Which only demonstrates Republicans have no real ideas, solutions and/or morals for problems and progress. They do stuff to claim they're taking action, not providing any relief.

You're really showing us, Greg.

By the way, winter's coming. Maybe when your power grid fails again, your state is under a foot of ice, and you're in desperate need of help, our phone will be off the hook.

I realize the point of this is to cause suffering and generate headlines, but if the goal was to be all "Look at how hypocritical the libs are" you could get there by coordinating with these cities to drop off hundreds of migrants at a time.

2022-11-27 12:40:59 PM
So when are they going to reallocate funds that help defray the cost of support to his destination cities.

Why do Republicans insist on calling asylum seekers "illegal" immigrants?

I'm no law talking guy, but I'm pretty sure asking for asylum is legal.

If Texas is going to move the "border crisis" inland, I guess we should move all the border crisis funding inland as well.

Then again, that might suspiciously look like attempting to solve a problem.
- We can't have that.

Can NY, PA, and some other states start offering early release for inmates in exchange for a 1 way bus ticket to TX or FL?

I love how this was started to trigger libs, and libs are all "Oh, cool. No worries, we got this?"

There'll come a day when I'm huddled with my cats, burning my last candle for warmth.  I'm trying to melt ice for water because I don't dare turn on the tap.  There will be a knock on the door.  I'll open it.  On the other side will be orange fur and two wild, staring eyes.

"Gritty.  Thank God," I will say.  "Please make it quick."

Don't forget that many male Spanish speakers on the US side of the former state of Tejas-Coahuila.  You have to include the culture of Machismo. They vote.  They vote Republican.  The really don't see women as being that important.  The cruelty to the less fortunate is the message.  The family either lived here before the new international borders were drawn, or they were born here and are superior, especially to los indioswho don't even speak Spanish very well.

Greg Abbott has sacrificed being understood by liberal Anglos to go after a voting bloc no one is comfortable talking about.

I"m sure they consider their skin tone illegal, not their actions.

Anyway, Abbott seems to be a repeat offender.  Can the FBI take him into custody yet?

After doing racist, deplorable things, it's a sure bet that when he gets re-elected it will continue.

I feel for the non-assholes in TX, but unless and until there are political repercussions for Abbott acting like a monster, it's the only card that can be played.

Because the important part of "law and order" isn't the "law", it's the "everyone has their proper place and this ain't yours".

Although I know another solution would be to send aid under the condition that Abbott must acknowledge that blue states are covering for his failings as governor, and publicly. Make it known that he has been given that choice. So he can either admit he's an asshole and get aid, or not and not. Make him choose either his pride or his citizens, and let them decide his fate based on what he chooses.

You know who's not going to be in Texas?  His human trafficking victims.

Somebody funnied but it does kind of work that way because if the population of the urban center increases they may get more representation in Congress after the next census.

They aren't being trafficked.

And why should Texas be made solely responsible for an INFINITE number of 'asylum seekers' who just keep walking in?

It's easy to be holier-than-thou when you're not down here dealing with it.  It's time for sanctuary cities to pay their fair share, so won't you please open your hearts... and your checkbooks?

Seize the bus.

Charge the driver with trafficking.

Go after the bus company.

If the drivers/company want to testify Abbott paid them, let them plead to a lesser charge.

I can only assume this is legal, since it keeps happening and no one's stopping it.

It's like this, they are only trafficking these asylum seekers to "sanctuary cities" who obviously love 'illegals' more than they love America and therefore State's Rights.

Kidnapping by inveiglement is still kidnapping and illegal.  If I offer to drive you to New York for a great job, but instead drop you off in Massachusetts where there is nothing for you, I've kidnapped you.  They volunteered for a lie, and that's what makes it kidnapping.

Who coordinates these trips and how do people get signed up for them? They have to be announced beforehand somehow.

It seems like some enterprising/bored/activist American citizens can start signing up for the free trips. Then if they are denied passage, they could sue for discrimination for being denied a government "service" on the basis of race or national origin.

Let's start filling up the buses. Someone can bring booze and someone else can bring pizza. Road trip courtesy of Greg Abbott!

Don't come looking for federal handouts next time you have any disasters in your backwoods state.

Just get bootstrapy.

Blue states are getting tired of carrying the financial burden for red states.
