My first time in Amsterdam, I thought this whole park was filled with lizards who were staring at me as walked back to my hotel after visiting a coffee shop.

Can't wait to read the utter bullshiat and links to other cannabaveats blogs as "evidence" that the Alex Jones/Kayleigh McEnany/Melissa Carone of Pot Propaganda Is guaranteed to post (along with another variation of his imaginary friend who smoked pot anywhere from one time to 100 years before switching to meth and murdering almost a million people during a home break in)

I've done most of southeast Asia on really good window pane.

The whole planet will legalize eventually.   There is too much money to be made not to.

CSB: The French exchange student at my college (maybe he just went there, either way it's irrelevant) had a block of hash with him and would mix it with tobacco and smoke all day long.  For several months he was confused as to why no one would smoke with him . But his accent was so thick we though he was saying "You guys wanna smoke some 'ash?"

Yes?

And, I've never even really been to The Netherlands, except for a few hundred meters of it I cycled between German and Belgium on my last EU bicycle tour.

It's probably more of a challenge to try Europe not on weed, or at least not getting offered. Or that's how it tends to be with the types of people I meet when traveling by bicycle.

Fun fact: The Bible actually has no restrictions on drug use. People back when and where it was written, including probably some of its writers, used psychedelics for spiritual experiences all the time.

Today you'll see evangelicals try to tackle this topic by saying that there's other parts of the Bible saying not to break the law. But with legalization moving forward, you're starting to see them reach all the way to "well don't encourage others who can't handle it to do drugs by doing them yourself!" Same as they do with gambling, which is also not restricted in the Bible.

Yeah, they've voted to legalize before but their local government reversed it against the will of the voters. So, we'll see if it takes this time. MO is one of those Trump loving, "Let's let the churches run everything" people of the land, common clay, moron states.

grumpfuff: I was 9 the last time I was in Europe, so no.

However, I was offered beer and wine.

Four years ago my Irish relations were in the states, so we went to a bar & grill for some grub.   One of the nephews, aged 13, stuck a toe under the line at the bar because the sign said "NO ONE UNDER 21 PERMITTED HERE UNDER PENALTY OF BLAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!" and being 13, he thought that was pretty funny.   It took me 15 minutes and a personal favor to talk the bar manager off the ledge and allow us to remain in the establishment so we could finish our food.

Three days ago I was sitting at the bar having a pint in a Dublin local waiting for my wife to finish getting her hair done.  On the bar stool next to me was our seven year old, chowing down on some pretty good pub grub and sampling the foam off the top of my Guinness.  No one thought anything of it, and she got to meet a pretty good barman.

America is farked is all kinds of ways, but we seem to have our shiat together when it comes to common sense pot measures.  I'm mystified as to why Europe is so far behind in that regard.

In terms of the bar thing, I think it depends what bar, how often you're there, and perhaps, current year. From the age of 7 til about 18, there were two bars in town dad would regularly take me to and we almost always sat at the bar, not tables, and the bartenders would treat me just like anyone else. I never asked for alcohol or anything, even though Dad and the bartenders knew I was getting drunk with my friends elsewhere. On my 21st birthday, we went back to one of those bars (and sat a table, funnily enough), Dad bought me a beer, and said "I just wanted to buy your first beer." I unconsciously smirked a bit, and after a short pause he said "OK, yes, I know, your first legal beer."

It might just be my hometown though.

/kind of amazed I don't have a criminal record from my younger days
