My little brother has a labrador mix, and he's the best dog ever. Over the years, I don't think I've ever met a bad mannered lab. If you can shampoo them weekly to keep the oil from building up on their fur, they are just great dogs all around.

That was a nice story. We need more of this.

Dogs are the best.

This is a really nice story. Dogs tend to make everyone's life better, and when the article mentions the "pitter patter of feet" my heart just goes "d'aww". And when you've had a bad day, and a dog puts its head on your leg and looks at you like it's saying "I know. I know... it sucks... but I love you, and I'll love you forever... so when's dinner?"

Not a mean bone in their bodies.

[ponders]

My nephew and his girlfriend found a lost/abandoned lab mix that got scared, ran away, and bit my brother-in-law's hand down to the bone when he went to catch it; but the dog wasn't mean at all. It had issues, and I think it was either abused or possibly benignly neglected at its previous home. It was a sweet baby that needed a lot of love and patience.

We need more dog and cat stories, and fewer stories about everything else.

I used to make bat (or dragon) wings like that with a wire frame inside.

But when making really large ones, or ones for kids, I prefer to sew a pocket in there, then stuff it with polyester fill, so it's relatively firm, but less likely to poke someone's eye out.  I might leave wire in the section that's closest to the body, and the part that's the fingers that trail backwards (which don't always need it, or you can use polyester boning), but the outermost sections are never something that might poke out someone's eye when you turn quickly.

As opposed to "That's a good fire, dog."

We have an office dog a few times a week.  Not for emotional support or anything, but he's a welcome distraction.  He's a wire haired terrier (as smart as a poodle, not as floofy).  Awesome little guy.

This one's tough for me. When boomers complain about young people being snowflakes, I need to lecture them about how easy they had it. When millennials and genzs talk about their trauma every time they open their mouths, I want to tell them where to buy a spine.
But I'm genx so...get a dog or don't. Stuff your trauma down or express it. Whatever.
