I'd feel worse about it if they were still endangered, but they aren't. Florida has plenty of gators.

Back when I was living in a rural area of Virginia I could not believe they didn't let hunters kill deer year round. There were deer everywhere. During rutting season sometimes the males would chase my car because I think the exhaust resonated at some frequency that set them off.

I love deer, I think they are cute. I also think we have plenty of them.

Necessary?

Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine?  No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.

Lived in Louisiana for a spell. At one time and being a midwesterner, I thought an alligator was some mythical creature. May as well have been a dragon or bigfoot. The first one I ever saw was roadkill.

Is killing nuisance Floridians necessary?

It's doing the Lord's work!

Oh...alligators? Leave the scaly bastards alone.

I say relocate all captured alligators onto the barrier islands of Florida so that the barrier islands can return to their normal purpose; to protect the mainland from flooding due to storm surges.

Killing is the only way state "game officials" know how to deal with wildlife.
No animal should face execution based on some missing foo-foo dogs, or the rantings of a helicopter mommy.

Don't like gators? Then move north and live in one of the many urban reserves designed for catering to every lazy whim of domesticated biipedal livestock.

If there was a 6 foot alligator near where my young child plays in my back yard, I would want it removed, too.

or you could try watching your kid and teaching them NOT to play at the water's edge.....

gators are sleath predators who do lunge attacks, they don't run up on the bank to eat you if you're not near the water. i'll bet money the mom who called recently moved here and is too busy on her phone to teach the kid how to stay safe.
