They didn't retroactively make what he did illegal, it was illegal when it happened. So I guess that's the difference. They just removed a limitation on when it could be prosecuted.

Generally speaking you can't retroactively make something criminal, but they didn't.  It was ALWAYS criminal, they just removed another law that said, "Well, if you got away with it long enough, we give up".    You can decriminalize something, though.

I'd expect lawyers to argue that it's not a criminal offense to get away with a criminal offense, and it's just been criminalized, of course, but I'd kind of hope they don't win with that argument.   If the original action shouldn't have been a crime, it would have been decriminalized.

Seems like there ought to be a Trump family member who could provide DNA that could be conclusive enough to show someone closely related to Donny made the donation, which in turn should be more than enough for a court-ordered sample from the shiatstain himself.

thiss woman is a nut job who has already accused him of stuff. silly stuff,proven a whack job, and forgot.   shot down because of statue of limitations.  someone just changed the law, that went into effect at midnight, and as she filed again shortly there after.  This was a claim of something that happened 30 years ago. stuff that can't be proven by DNA like serious crimes.  Just opinions from someones memory bank.
