Germany is looking out for their NATO buddy Poland. Poland is looking out for their neighbor buddy Ukraine. It's nice to be nice to the nice. But...

Ok. Well, I agree. Let's all just raise our hands and let this happen.

I realize that the range wouldn't help much of Ukraine, but maybe we should let Germany support Poland, Slovakia, and Romania with air defense systems. If the systems happen to detect and shoot down incoming missiles that were targeting Ukraine, pull a Lloyd Bridges "it's coming right at us!"

Germany: "Here, friends! Have some air defense systems! We think you should probably put them very near your border with Ukraine. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*
Poland, et.al.: "Why thank you! What a generous gift!" *Deploys systems to within .5 km of the border*

Poland should have taken the equipment and left it in an insecure location on Ukraine's border.

Poland turned down Germany back in the 30s to go in on an invasion of Russia.

Germany was so pissed, they invited the Soviets to go in on an invasion of Poland.  That sold well.

Ukraine got rid of their nukes.  The Russians were really pissed they couldn't use Ukraine as the excuse for nuclear hostilities against the EU, so Russia shot down a passenger plane over Ukraine and blamed Ukraine anyway.  Now, whether the radioactive cloud comes from Chernobyl or another Ukrainian site, the Russians can point the finger at Ukraine and those, who need to believe that, will.

Today when I drop a piece of pumpkin pie on the floor so it looks like poop, I'm going to blame the dog and hope there is a dog.

Can we stop pretending that Putin and his cronies want anything similar to the USSR, and are instead looking for a totalitarian Dictatorship that eventually does away with the Duma, and places him as the unquestioned Tsar of the new Russian Empire?

TFA claims the patriot missiles require a German crew, so I guess that's similar.

Also TFA hints that its just the ruling parties anti-German rethoric that will bite Poland in the ass, potentially at least.

Wouldn't it be bizzarro and beautifully poetic to find out that Manafort talked Putin into invading Ukraine both times?  Playing both sides against each other and ending up in prison (if only for a while).  Bill Shakes could have written that comic tragedy.

From what I understand, it might actually be the opposite. Patriots are apparently a ridiculously complex system which contributes to the expense of operation. On the other hand, the most complex parts of a modern aircraft are the weapons, radar, and EWS systems - most modern training is about operating these complex systems while under extreme duress in combat.

Do you think for one minute that Ukraine would be in the midst of this invasion had Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine went along with Trump's phone call demanding he make up investigations into Hunter Biden?

This would be the reason for Trump Impeachment number one, maybe you need to read up?
