I think for stuff like this to be effective in turning people against someone, it has to:

A) Be surprising (A rich old white Republican from Arkansas May be RACIST?!?!?! No way!!!!)
B) Be more conclusive (like if he were actually on the front lines or caught throwing something at them)
C) Be from within the last 50 years (I don't think anyone wants to be judged by the mean things they've done as teenagers, especially as part of a large group)

So you are saying that those who disliked him before will still dislike him and those who adored him will still adore and defend him?

Would you draw that line somewhere near  "Cowboys fan"  or is it far away from there in a different place?

Jerry needs to have tons of Curious George dolls and books mailed to him.  You know, to remind him how he was once curious.

"I'll be very candid with you, I've often asked: 'Why didn't you do more?" Jones said.

spare us the revisionist history.  the only 'more' you would've been doing at the time was throwing rocks, so be thankful you didn't

For the rest of us playing at home, tell us when Robert Byrd joined the Klan.

Then tell us when he left.

Then tell us what he said and did during his time in the various public offices he held, with respect to the above membership.

What a surprise.
The guy who threatened everyone on his team who might want to kneel during the National Anthem might be racist.

The guy who literally was Vice President to a Black President? The guy who literally chose a Black woman to be his own Vice President?

I'm really not sure who adores Jerry Jones, tbh. I've never met someone that sings his praises.

Who were the people you talking about when you said I" think for stuff like this to be effective in turning people against someone, it has to: " ?

I think that generally it doesn't matter if you're for or against Jerry Jones as a person. He's not a publicly-elected official. Every Cowboys fan has generally come to the understanding that it doesn't matter whether or not they like him or hate him, he's gonna own the team.

Finding out that a wealthy white Republican from Arkansas did a racist thing 60 years ago is...not in the top 10 of objectionable things about Jerry Jones.

It's a thing Republicans have really taken advantage of: You can only be shamed if anyone ever thought you were a good person. So if you're just an obvious sh*tbag from the jump (and when you're wealthy, there are no real consequences for it), then no one can ever shame you into doing the right thing! And since you're wealthy and write the laws, you can make sure your asshole activities can't be prosecuted, either...so you're basically invincible.

Unless the murders begin. But that's why you buy off the cops and get your own security force.

Like...everyone already knew Jerry Jones was a sh*tty person. This is another scrap of evidence for the pile, but, like...if it were part of Dan Snyder's blackmail threats? That's real weak.

Let's get something current, Danny Boy! We know Jerry didn't STOP being an asshole!

I truly believe people should have the full opportunity to disown actions and stances from their childhoods, but Jerry didn't do that, he's trying  to say he just happened to wander into the crowd of rabid angry racists.  If he had said yes I knowingly joined that crowd and I'm ashamed of that choice to this day, I've learned better since, he would probably receive praise for the candor, but no, he chose to play ignorant so as to not offend his racist fans

It's Jerry Jones. There's not much lower for him to sink. You could tell me he kills hiatchhikers for kicks and it wouldn't move the needle.

So the photo shows he was there......doesn't mean he was against what was going on....doesn't mean he wasn't.   Pictures don't really tell entire stories.

I won't sing his praises but he was a good enough deal maker (and the Vikings were dumb enough to go for it) to pawn off braindead Herschel in the trade so Jimmy could build the dynasty teams of the 90s.  Other than that 100% shiatheel.

The picture itself, is meaningless....

But he's a good ol' boy from Texas, so that tells one all you'd need to know.

I'm sure this has absolutely nothing to do with this:

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwie9Oig18n7AhV-LkQIHVpsDUsQFnoECA4QAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.espn.com%2Fnfl%2Fstory%2F_%2Fid%2F34778123%2Fwashington-commanders-owner-dan-snyder-claims-dirt-nfl-owners-roger-goodell&usg=AOvVaw1DtxnnMhV6En8DR6HGqy1C

That being said fark Jerry Jones. The only purpose he serves is making sure the Cowboys will never win another Super Bowl which is fine by me.
