Hooray for parades!

I like to pick a random year from my childhood and find that year's parade on YouTube. The best ones leave the commercials in.

This is an amazing idea. We're now watching the 1985 one

Genius. I tried watching last year's and turned it off after the third "Stop in front of Macys and perform a number from a Broadway show" parade killer. Show me floats, balloons, and Marching Bands. I can do without the cast of Rent mucking things up.

Waiting for Joy Reid to self immolate in front of Macy's and bring a smile to our faces.

This thread is quiet?  Is anyone actually watching the parade?  Or is everyone drunk already?

Parade?

Why do they do all this Broadway stuff before the actual parade starts?

Parade?

It's only a matter of time before they start putting up QR codes to directly buy tickets to each of the Broadway shows they're promoting with this thing.

I can't see the parade, every time I try to watch it's a commercial.

The Rockettes, so maybe that means the parade is starting soon.

You mean they're kicking off the parade?

I'll be looking for the Mizzou Golden Girls.  I get older, they stay the same.

They do that because the parade hasn't made it to Herald Square yet.  The parade starts all the way up on the Upper West Side and makes it way down Broadway.  It usually arrives in Herald Square about midway through.

The parade is tape delayed on the west coast. Lame!

Not Rockettes - missiles!

Paula Abdul was the choreographer for ZZ Top's Velcro Fly music video.

Parades are a vestige from the days before television when what passed for entertainment was a bunch of people walking in the same direction.

How does Paula Abdul sound more artificial than Hatsune Miku?

2022-11-24 10:07:36 AM
Was that Randy Jackson dancing in the crowd during Paula Abdul?

Also, I don't care much for parades other than marching bands. So I like this part.

Only watching because my daughter has a checklist for her Girl Scout troop.

I was like wow this is a great native American float, but then they showed it for a second and cut away to a commercial

Wow.  MET Life had much bigger Peanuts gang floats.  I guess Apple didn't want to shell out.

Literally anyone who didn't de-ass the room just lost The Game before Thanksgiving even was over.

I stopped watching after season 5.

Great. Now everyone on a mobile device has sexually explicit photos of a minor on their phone.

Here is something a little more adult for you from a past parade of Spider-Man eating Uncle Sam's ass.

I don't get into the parades like I did when I was a kid, but pop in every once in awhile to see what float is going by. Wife watches exert year. So I'm in kitchen this morning, doing dishes. Wife goes, "Hey, it's Goku"
I about break my neck to get into bedroom(don't judge me in a fan)
Was digging the float, until Hoda ruined it for me "Goku, the super sI-yan"

Do they have the guy dressed as a sidewalk sweeper with the cart that follows the horses, cleaning up after them?
I liked that guy.  He was funny, and everybody cheered for him.

Having Baby Yoda followed by the Dragonball Z kid spoiled the Mando season 3 for me. Now I'll have to buy a bunch of new Funko toys in completely new colors besides green.
