Unless it makes you hire a bunch of assassins to go after the people produce the most greenhouse gases I don't think much will change.

I've seen this movie before. It does not turn out well for the scientists. Or anyone, for that matter. Maybe we should just leave it alone?

Algae "sea"?

Algae sea...

Sensationalistic reporting on something we already knew about.

Probably that black oil that infects people and starts the colonization of the species that sent it.

Nah.  To Chinese pee-pee-grow shops.  I swear China could solve its population problems if you just started a rumor that ground up Chinese people made your wee-wee wake up.

Algae. In an ocean. Presented with a headline that suggests a single, massive creature.  Your blog sucks.

For decades, scientists have believed that nothing could live under the frozen surface of Antarctica.

Why? We know there's life in boiling thermal vents at the deepest depths of the ocean, why would we assume that cold temperatures would be completely lifeless?

Its a depiction of the race of beings that engineered the human race, originally as slaves.  Its a Lovecraft thing originally, but a large number of writers  picked up the ball and ran with it as well as part of the ongoing Cthulhu Mythos

giantmeteor: Is it subby's mom?

Subby's mom, the green, sticky spawn of the stars, had awaked to claim her own. The stars were right again, and what an age-old cult had failed to do by design, a band of innocent antarctic researchers had done by accident. After vigintillions of years Subby's mom was loose again, and ravening for delight.

China's "population problem" for the last decade or so has been population decline, at least in terms of their working population. Their total population has remained stable for the entire time of their One-Child policy.

Nobody did.  They thought it went dormant in the cold, dark months.  This article is clickbait with a hint of something interesting.

At least, I assume it's algae in the ocean.  I can't tell based on skimming the article.
