Well now they know where to drop the leaflets with peaceful surrender instructions.

The issue seems to be these guys are in a remedial solder class.

They've failed "How Not to be Seen"

I'm afraid I can't sympathize with the suffering and death of people who are participating in an unprovoked invasion of another country.  The looting, rape, kidnapping, and genocide just make it worse.

They could have refused to serve and dealt with the consequences at home.

They could have surrendered.

Instead, they're dead.  And while it's the third most preferable solution, it's still a good one.

Oh come on, they figured that out in WWI ffs. Or even earlier.

I guess I was right that all the smart ones died in the Gulags, and this is what's left after two generations of breeding drones.

This is what happens when you don't train your people before you send them off to a combat zone.

Well they are issuing Mosin Nagant's and other WW1 equipment.

They probably thought there was a greater chance of them freezing to death than being hit with artillery

I have a guy in the office who sincerely believes three things about this war:
1) The US has spent more in the Ukraine war than we did for both Iraq and Afghanistan, combined.
2) Russia is doing this to defend themselves.
3) Russia is winning the war.

He also said that Hunter's laptop is SUPER REAL and confirmed by CNN or Newsweek or whatever, then claims he's not even remotely a Republican.
... I very much want to hit him.

Claim that Russian troops are lighting fires to keep warm.

Russian brass forbids the lighting of fires.

Conscripts freeze to death or surrender.

Profit.

2022-11-23 9:06:07 AM
The Ukrainian artillery are just trying to keep the Russians warm, and nothing keeps you warmer than white phosphorus rounds.

2022-11-23 9:06:49 AM
The only upper limit to the question "How many dead Russian troops is too many?" is one more than the total number of Russian troops.

2022-11-23 9:23:54 AM
We should send a lot of those chemical hand warmers to the Ukrainian troops to keep them warm and undetected. I use them when hunting on cold mornings and just one in a shirt pocket under a jacket makes a big difference.

Good every mistake they make should cost them dearly until they have enough of the BS and head home to string up Putin.

I remember years ago hearing a story in Israel where they had a spy in the army of one of the nations surrounding them that hated them. He was touring artillery positions and pointed out to the guides how they had no cover and how it was wearing down the the soldiers. He suggested they plant a shade tree next to each position so that pretty much showed Israeli spotters where the cannons were.

All of this.
Also it was THEIR choice to select the third option after rejecting the first two.

Maybe we should send the Russians humanitarian aid?

I'm thinking one of those tanker planes that drops water on forest fires. It would put out that dangerous fire and keep them safe in addition to giving them a free bath.

And quite frankly, snuffing out fires at night with rockets and mortars from a few hundred yards away sounds kinda fun!

Hunter's laptop is, in fact, super real.  It is a laptop that Hunter Biden once owned.  It is not illegal to own a laptop, of course.

We just had our biggest offender fired a few weeks back. All of it. Hunter Biden laptops, stolen election, Illuminati, illegal immigrant caravan coming for your horses and pigs. He was also not good at his job, a slob who ate at his desk and had food bits and wrappers migrate under the walls into neighboring cubes, and a total creeper towards women less than half his age. Oh, and apparently still married to a woman where he used to live while trying to hook up with those 25 year old coworkers. Good f__kin' riddance.

Hey, the Mosin Nagant is  a fine rifle. I have one from WWII and can testify to its accuracy with only iron sights, and a kick like a mule.
With only a steel butt plate to cushion its recoil, if you use this rifle repeatedly, you will suffer serious shoulder pain.

This being said, I don't excuse or defend any Russian actions since the February inception of the war.
The fact that Russian soldiers should incur shoulder pain causes me not one minute of lost sleep. It may not be a Kalashnikov and it only has a 5 shot internal magazine, but the 7.62x54R round is deadly at 800+ yards.

Hunter Biden has probably owned laptops, but the one the GOP is fixated on never existed.  The guy who made up the story recanted soon after the whole thing blew up as an issue.

The thought leaders on the right have accepted that Russia is getting rogered on the battlefield. Pat Buchanan just admitted the Russian army is "flailing". At the start of the war, he said "Russia is not losing this war" despite getting blasted back away from Kiev and much of the country. Then he said it was a stalemate before the Kharkiv offensive. He's still opposed to US involvement because he thinks there is no US interest in stopping a dictator from trying to build an empire in Europe (!), even though the only support the US provides is a small subset of its weapons (e.g. Javelin, HIMARS, 777) and intelligence specific to the area.

His current position is that as Putin's position becomes more desperate, he'll resort to use of nukes to try and win. Putin has already caused the deaths of so many, but I think he signs his death warrant if he detonates a nuke.
