Is online poker still illegal even though Americans can now do sports betting?

Tr0mBoNe: Is online poker still illegal even though Americans can now do sports betting?

Depends on where you are. It is legal in some states (provided you're on approved sites, some of which can pool their player base across other states and some of which is just that site within that state for very small numbers).

But in general. No. Online poker is still illegal.

Just a little further, CyrptoBros, and the entire scam should collapse because of "liquidity" issues.

As long as you bought in at that dip in 2020, which everyone will claim they did, you've still made money.

Alameda Research's CEO looks like she's 9 and 79 at the same time.  Reading about all the sex parties they had in their C-suites, all I can say is, she must have a prehensile vagina or some other hole nobody's ever seen before.

Cake her face with some Tammy Faye Bakker level make-up, put on some garter and hose, a pair of FMPs, and she's good to go.

The next leg of the crisis is either going to be triggered by Binance or Tether.

I know hindsight is 20/20, but how can people trust their real money to software on a server in god-knows-where, and answerable to nobody, or at best answerable only after a years-long court battle?

Its just too damned easy for the devs/managers to set up these gambling sites to allow cheating for a select few.

Ever moreso for online "slots".

Anyone who ever plays online poker is an idiot. Part of the game of poker is reading the player's faces and body movements for tells and other non-verbal cues. How do you do that online? Is the guy delaying his bet, or did he stepped away to the fridge for a beer? Is he nervously toying with his chips? There are no physical chips in online poker.

So you're stuck playing based solely on probabilities. Then, you need to think, "Is it really a fair deck?" So long as the cards shown at anytime a duplicate of another card shown or in your hand, there's no proof that the "deck" had 52 unique cards of 4 different suits and 13 different values per suit. And what does it mean to "shuffle" online? How do we know that it's not playing with only 48 cards, where all Queens are removed? Then, the next hour, all the 8's are removed, and the queens are replaced.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, she'll be cute to some, not to others.

For the latter type of people, the solution is: turn down the lights, turn up the volume, and handicap your brain with alcohol and drugs.

How weird is it that when many people in their 20's want to look for a mate, one of the most common ways to do this is to go to a nightclub, where the lights are nearly out, you can hardly speak with or hear people, and your judgement is so impaired you'd go to jail if you drove a car....

But I digress.
None of this of this matters regarding Caroline's HUGE responsiblity/role in the disgusting FTX debacle.

If she's not beautiful to some others, I'd suggest to those some others to look elsewhere. There are plenty of fish in the sea. She's sorta plain-jane for me, but I can envision, with make-up and better fashion, she can be made more attractive. She's not a hopeless case here.

Also, who is to say a bunch of the players in an online poker game aren't actually friends on the phone with each other, sharing what cards they have with each other? That shared knowledge among 2 or 3 players is enough to allow them to win a lot more.

So even if you could somehow trust the online poker software/ever, the risk that players are secretly helping each other makes the whole idea a non-starter.

Maybe she's the female lead in a teen romantic comedy, where she only has to take her glasses off and suddenly everyone thinks she's amazing.

The marketing, the finance, the investor relations, the underworld, all of that DNA can be traced back to the Fantasy Football and other apps, farther back to online poker, and farther back to online gambling of 20 or so years ago.... Dodging regulation and moving down the line, fleecing bros for at least one generation.

You can find that there is a whole family tree of these companies that pump, dump, and dodge, and they are not finished yet because none has been shut down by the US government. They stay one step ahead. By the time 60 minutes is doing some expose, they have moved on to bitcoin, NFTs, and whatever is next.

Given what we've seen from some of these institutions in what they call "reserves", Im really wondering how much of Tether's supposed reserves are just more self referencing loops arbitrarily marked to magic.

Isn't Binance connected to China? If so I have a suspicion they wouldn't let it collapse but are interested in wrecking everyone else.

Except UltimateBet was a real scam (along with Absolute Poker -- both ran the same software), with insiders with admin accounts able to see hole cards and gaming the tables.

FTX is more like Full Tilt Poker -- essentially a bank with gaming software that overleveraged to the hilt and couldn't cover deposits.

Also, I dunno, call me weird but I'm not sure I'd trust billions to someone with a tumblr shiatpost account. I'd just... I'd have questions.
