The crowd milling about near the blocked exit while he rambles about building the wall...you can't parody that.

Can't blame them... there were only a handful of us that made it clear through the speech in the live thread last night.  For what was supposed to be a high-energy, enthusiastic campaign announcement, it was more a bland, boring speech.  More like a Festivus airing of grievances than a campaign announcement

Their first mistake was being on the same property as Donald Trump.

They were leaving because there weren't enough flags on the stage. 50% more flags and they would have cheered.

Yeah, I only counted 30 on and around the stage.  Such an unpatriotic person... and he wants to be president again?  I guess on the plus side, he didn't hump any of them, at least when the cameras were on

I would imagine the fire marshal would have something to say about that as well, if they were really locked

I'm sure the Palm Beach County government will get right on that. Meanwhile, we'll probably have OSHA show up and have a stray trash can in front of a fire extinguisher or breaker panel.

If you need to lock people into the room to listen to a speech....well, the election campaign is already over and Trump has lost.

The mental image of people pounding on the doors and beginning to scream "Let me out, Let us out, help, let us out"
is rather satisfying. It would have been a fitting accoutrement to the evening.

Can we arrest Trump now, or are we going to hold off again because it's now "political" to arrest a candidate for president while he kidnaps people to pretend to be his adoring followers?

Yup. Only an insane person would voluntarily listen to that.

Unlikely, they knew they were there to hear trump talk, so no false pretenses in play. It's a fire violation at the very least though.

Call the police. False imprisonment, which is Illegal. Might wanna call the fire marshall too. He doesn't like blocked exit doors.

It reminded me of the free lunch seminars that attract old people to buy annuities or time shares.

Someone could get paid if they try suing for false imprisonment. Someone needed to get gas pedaled.

It was also a two drink minimum.   And there was a time share pitch following the 'big' announcement.  The time share pitch at least had some multimedia stuff to it and Brenda unbuttoned her top and said 'it was getting real hot up in here'

Trump Security = thugs and morons more likely than not. Even his SS detail was full of them.

One of the earlier plans was to have VS-50 anti-personnel mines under the seats and after an announcement of such, everyone would've remained rigid in their seats.

Nixed, due to expense.

It's too close to the election. Safer to let the voters decide.

Isn't that what Mar-a-Lago basically is, a time share for rich people? Probably just giving his security practice for the January renewals.

The second-best part of the video is him saying "we built the wall" twice, like it actually happened.

Then he follows up the second one with "and we're gonna add to it." This tells us this time he's not gaslighting, he's going for something closer to a lie of omission: He's calling the 1% of the wall that got built "the wall" and treating it as completed for purposes of this lie.

/Whether he built anything new or just pointed to a piece of existing border wall getting replaced that was funded before he was even in office is something I'd have to look up.
//But I distinctly remember the second one happening and some of his supporters were taking it as fact while others were taking the "teeechnically, it is part of his wall!" route.

I watched that crowd calmly, silently, milling about and thought WTF? I cannot imagine people reacting to be held against their will with so little spine. NORMAL people would snap Madea and start screaming and maybe throwing chairs or, at least, go Karen and start loudly demanding to speak to a manager. What the hell is wrong with those people?

Unfortunately the fire did that not long after the bouncer did. You had to have knowledge of the building to know how to get out of it once that and the front door were blocked. (And it didn't help that one of the doors had long since been boarded up because reasons.)

\played there a few times

Well, considering that the first reporter was able to his stand-up is not a good reflection of the speech itself. There was like one lone clap during both videos. He's just mumbling along in the background. Normally there's at least some noise they're talking over. This might as well have been a TV up on stage for all of the energy produced in that room. Wow...

They're republicans in a republican crowd. They know who they're rubbing shoulders with. Would you want to agitate the others?

/Alternate explanation: sheeple.
