I remember how low I felt when the Nationals went to Houston down 3-2, having scored only three runs in three games in DC.  Scherzer had missed game 5.  Yeah, Strasburg was pitching game 6, but how would we possibly win two in Houston?

The only good coming from an Astros win is Dusty Baker finally gets a WS. The guy had to suffer through the Bartman disaster and a few others less dramatic but just as heartbreaking. I can't stand the Astros, never could, not even with Ryan who I always thought was a prick. But Dusty is a class act and deserves a World Series in spite of his team.

/ Plus he's a local dude from Sacto.

I tuned in to see a player being carted off and a red card which I guess is bad, and not being an MLS soccer fan meant I had no other interest in the game... but do enjoy the World Cup especially when the women play because they win.

I know it's sacrilege and all, and that soccer is the world's most popular sport, but I just don't see the appeal.  It is the only game more boring than golf.  They run around nonstop for 90 minutes and nobody scores.

As someone who roots for Dallas teams, what a horrific matchup, but I guess go Phillies, at least make it interesting.

it was the Cubs meltdown, not the Bartman disaster, and Dusty carries plenty of blame for his season-long mismanagement of pitchers.
