This Georgia Vols game could go so many different directions but Vols will at least give them a run for their money. Die hard Tennessee fan here. Georgia has had so many 5 star recruits. UT doesn't have 5 stars but we're a mature team with a lot of upperclassmen, great schemes and an explosive offense. No idea if TN wins but don't count them out.

Why would you ever want the guys who know the flexbone to call the game when you can have doofuses who think there is a FB on the field instead of a B back and who can supply generic statements out the ass rather than guys familiar with at least one of the teams?

It's going to come down to whether or not Kirby can slow down the Vols - enough. I don't have the greatest confidence in that.  If UT rings up over 35, it's theirs.

If tennessee beats georgia I don't really see a path for them to make it. They wouldn't play in the sec championship. Clemson will likely win out. Ohio state or Michigan will finish undefeated. Maybe, MAYBE if Alabama beats LSU and Ole Miss, then gets beat by the Vols for the second time. That's a lot of if's

The excuse I heard last year from UGA* fans for their inclusion in the playoff was, "But those kids worked so hard!"  I'm sorry, you lose your conference championship game, you're not playing for a national championship.  And then years before that, Penn State should've gone into the playoff as conference champs, but no, screw Penn State despite jailing and/or destroying those who had something to do with the Sandusky scandal, let's put in Ohio State, who didn't even play for the Big Ten championship.

They should go ahead and institute the new playoff format now.  Don't wait until next year or 2026 or whatever, do it now.

They always have one down game a season and the weather and injured players didn't help matters.

Supposedly, when this happens to Clemson or anyone in the $EC it's "they won and that's all that matters" so we'll see if that holds true (it won't) moving forward. They'll probably drop to #4 on Tuesday

The talent difference between #3 and #4 is the same as the difference between #4 and #63. 
I'm for an expanded playoff but not more than 8 teams. 

Hopefully an 8 team playoff will help spread the talent pool. Right now if top talent wants to play for a championship there is no reason to go anywhere besides UGA, Bama, OSU, or one of the 5 teams that fights for the 4th spot.

I've always thought you take the winners from each conference(work something out with the independent conference) then set up a bracket with those winners, ala March madness style tourney. Team that finishes the regular season with the best record gets a bye first week of playoffs. Tied records get broken down by other factors.

On a side note, I figure it is only going to get worse after UT and OU move to the SEC as far as getting to watch them.  Like today for example, can't watch ou/Baylor unless I subscribe to ESPN+
