I was in a play called Trafford Tanzi many years ago and we trained with professional wrestlers. It was a really fun play to do as it is a musical that takes place inside a wrestling ring and you're wrestling all throughout it but man, it was killer on the body. I couldn't imagine doing that for a living. It's no wonder so many pro wrestlers have health and addiction problems. I dislocated 2 ribs during that play.

Everyone talks about his Hell in a Cell bump but I have no idea how he got up after this.

In Mick's first book he talks about doing that same bump extensively and burning out from it very, very quickly.

Christ, thats right on the concrete.  He is certainly a legend, and the 80s-90s are my preferred era of wrestling.. but I like to (even though some of the moves today are ridiculous) think that fellas aren't killing themselves in this way any more.

Todays era with being spot monkeys is more tendon blow outs and the occasional neck fusion.

No doctor on this planet, in possession of any decency, would clear Mick Foley to work a match these days (and his wife would probably file a malpractice suit on any doctor who *did* clear him to work a match, and she would be bringing his medical records to court with her).

Got to meet Mick Foley in North Carolina about ten years ago. He was gracious enough to put to with my friends and I asking questions about him and his career for about 30 minutes.

Dude could barely walk and was using a cane then. I can only imagine his physical condition has deteriorated ever further since then.

Mick has had his knees and hips replaced in recent years, and while that is tough you can tell when he does Foley is Pod that he has to be reminded what they were talking about which is more worrisome.
