I'm actually digging the game so far. Quick matches with decent variety thanks to locations. Best part of all: haven't spent a dime. Looks like money is only useful for getting cosmetic stuff, not more powerful cards.

I know it's not the best rice but that's a bit extreme.

Came here for Uncle Ben's Perverted Rice, leaving to steam some proper long-grain love.

The Season Pass has cards locked up in it, and after the free 20 level pass if you aren't getting the Season Pass rewards gaining the stuff to improve cards to unlock more cards slows way the hell down. The cards you do get while not paying are fine enough to work your way up the ranks however.

Fun but not for me, I'm not a fan of the reminders of all the stuff I could be unlocking if I gave them $10.

The season pass is just exclusive variants and they enter the free random card group after a couple months. Upgrading cards does slow down, but if you knock out some Daily Missions, that's plenty to do enough upgrades to unlock more cards.

I get that the gameplay isn't going to grab everyone, but the monetization is about as inoffensive as I could hope for.

Oh yeah, for sure. Could've been way worse, doesn't seem like a pay to win situation at all. Still just a bit much for me. I feel like they should also make it so that if you snap than retreat is no longer an option.

Would play it as a physical game if they ever came out with that, seems like it'd adapt easily.

My favorite combo and it's getting nerfed (soon):

T1: Quicksilver. T2: Uncle Ben  T3: Venom = I win.

(Venom triggers, kills Ben and Quicksilver, Spider-Man enters, triggers No Cards Next Turn, and your opponent rage quits).

/Venom is getting nerfed to: "...At the end of your turn..."

The On Reveal x2 location was fun for a couple days: Ironheart->Odin was pretty great.

That got old real quick. So many tigers...

The current 'make copies of your card' location offers much more variety. Tip: 1 Blue Marvel + 3 Onslaughts leads to hilarious results.

Too. FARKING. Slow.

High-Level players are running sub-5 kill decks.

I'm not much of a mobile gaming guy, but I just gave this a shot based on this thread and I'm pleasantly surprised how much fun it is.......simple and to the point without being asked to spend anything right out of the gate.  Its partially scratching the weird itch I had recently to dig out my cards for the old '90s Marvel Overpower CCG.  Good stuff!

Not impressed with what's been shown so far and I feel the same. Of course, I'm still bitter at the loss of Marvel Heroes Omega.

I just play yondu there for shiats and giggles.  I dont think I've ever won with it, but it fills me with glee watching 4 of their cards explode.

I also play a discard deck which is just awful in pool 2 with the choices I've unlocked so far.

My biggest annoyance at the game is being unable to craft cards.  I get why that might suck but I wanted to play destroy/discard decks, and my last two pool one cards were wolverine and lady sif, like the two cards that make either of those decks.

And the giant gaps between cards in pool two aren't filling me which much positivity so far

Dammit. I was hoping it would be good.

I did pick up Phoenix Point on the Xbox. It's okay. Scratches most of the same itch, plus some gameplay depth beyond "choose mission, run mission".

Apparently, that might be coming in the future.  Crafting would certainly help a bit for crafting a deck.

What I'd really like is to at least prioritize which of my cards gets the upgrade tokens after a match.  There are some that I'd prefer to upgrade over others (either because I prefer the art/character or because I know I'll be using them in a lot of decks for a while) and it just feels like I never get tokens for those.

If you want to troll somebody, I just discovered that Bar Sinister + Odin should basically be a delay of game penalty. That reveal is just endless.

I've enjoyed PP and I bought it on release. Never thought it was as bad as its reputation came to be, but they put in so much effort to improve it - every month or two was a sizeable update on top of the regularly released DLC. Still hoping the modding community develops at least somewhat to the same point as Fallout/XCOM communities.
