Make it easy to transfer a bedbound patient into one and they'll never be able to satisfy all the orders. Esp. there in Japan with the disproportionate amount of elderly citizens.

Creepy Lurker Guy: I recall seeing this in Popular Science circa 1970.

Or being mentioned as a "refresher" in Heinlein novels from the 1950s

If it can give me a happy ending I will buy it

I'd settle for an automatic tooth-cleaning device for the end of the day when I'm falling asleep and don't want to fiddle with the brush.

This Japanese Company Is Working on a Human Washing Machine

That need seems to have been filled some time ago by a couple of devices:

This looks like a malfunction could easily drown the user.
Or is that "works as intended"?

Design is a failure.  Water jets are missing in very particular places.

Those are already available on many convenient street corners.

Just do dual showerheads, one filled with "soap" and one that is just water

A. use water to wet body
B. switch to soap, quickly scrub
C. switch back to water and rinse
D. profit

The original probably didn't go anywhere because it took too much water. If you have to shower and clean before you get in because it's a shared resource, it's not really a human washing machine.

I'm sorry that your life is so empty and joyless, especially without a bidet.

Also, no way I'm getting into something that potentially fills with water that my head is not outside of.

The brave bathe once. Cowards bathe 1000 times.

Ya know, because they didn't drown that first time like the brave did.
