In the Time Machine, HG Wells predicted the human race would bifurcate into two separate species, the Eloi and the Morlocks

That future is happening in our present

You can just say republicans. No need to hide who is really the enemy by using euphemisms like "antivaxxer"

Republicans want more people to catch polio. It's just part of why they don't deserve to live in our civilization and should get the fark out.

It's less diverse than it used to be, but there's still a whole world of hippies who are anti vax.  Just have some garlic infused honey to fight off covid. I've actually seen that by decidedly non Trumpers.

It's a distinction without a difference.  In particular, fascists have always been anti-vax because they (wrongly) believe that disease is a natural way to remove the weak, "undesirable" members of the population.

That used to be the case, but the left-wing anti-vax movement has mostly died out during the COVID-19 pandemic.  California's Marin County used to be one of the country's largest hotbeds of left-wing antivaxxers, but now they have one of the highest vaccinations rates in the country.

I think it'll be more like the last timeframe in "Cloud Atlas" where you've got Halle Berry in a white catsuit with 23rd century tech living alongside Tom Hanks' illiterate aboriginal retro-human tribe throwing spears at her.

Fascists like anti-vaxx s*** as an organized movement because it allows them to lie and gin up a minority with a fear based campaign, for which they can offer themselves as the solution.

The left may have people who choose wrongly on some issues. But the left, generally, when presented with evidence, change their position. The right's sole identity is their unwillingness to change their position after being presented evidence.

They almost got rid of polio. Unfortunately, fundamentalist Muslim preachers in Pakistan told their followers that the polio vaccine was a sinister western plot to sterilize Muslims, and a number of vaccine aid workers got killed. That was the end of Polio vaccination.

Sounds kind of familiar.

(1)  Dude, be patient.  It's too early to see speciation.  At this point the two groups are become more antipathetic and anti-social toward each other.  They'll have to breed almost exclusively within their own groups for thousands of generations with dramatically differing selection pressures for any kind of speciation.  Give it time.

(2)  Liberals are Eloi and Morlocks are the corrupt conservative traitors to the human race.  The cannibalism is a dead giveaway.

I never got the sugar cubes.  I didn't even know there were sugar cubes until I was in High School.  I feel cheated.

I knew several people who got polio as children before the vax was created.  You can't reasonably believe getting vaccinated is too risky when you know a person with polio.

What's a little paralyzation these days anyways? Builds character.

Besides, vaccination has allowed the weak to thrive.

Now that I'm done with that sarcasm that last statement was something an anti-vax mom that I am no longer friends with said to me about 15 years ago. She stopped talking to me after I said "Including your kids?" in response to her absolutely heartless and thoughtless statement.
