eh, they probably get a wild card.

Like I said, I'm not the booing type of fan unless I see a player just not trying, or I have other reasons. I wouldn't have booed Aaron Hicks despite his year-long struggles and i just sighed and shook my head at Joey Gallo.

I'd boo Donaldson every time that asshole admired/trotted on a fly ball and I'd boo Aroldis Chapman (seriously, fark that guy)  and that's about it.

look at it from the perspective of the average Yankee Stadium attendee, however. Call them entitled or whatever, but they're sorta cranky. The 2010s was the first calendar decade in the team's history without a pennant. They're 0-for-infinity against the Astros in playoff series. They've already watched Judge strike out a dozen times in an ALDS they barely scraped through and they're watching it again (though no one else on the team is doing much better). The regular season and the home run chase may as well have been ages ago.

I don't endorse it, but I understand.

Stevie Wonder could've have seen this coming from the second half onwards.  Judge was the only one being a threat, everyone else was a strikeout waiting to happen.

Frankly, I wouldn't blame Judge if the Giants offered him a metric asston of money to head to the Bay Area and he accepted.

The only valid reason to boo a home player is lack of effort. Any other reason shows that you as a fan want your team to be worse.

I'm sure he has a few good season left in him, but he's never having another season like this one, and whomever signs him will be overpaying

He's in the Robinson Cano zone at his point.  Yeah, great numbers, but you're a UFA who's turned 30.  Anyone signs him to an 8-year contract they'll be eating the last four years of that as his numbers diminish.
