Tory's a pretty classy guy. Elon could learn a lot from him. He won't, of course, but he could.

How many of the launches are for their own product, which Elon may have just convinced the us government to take over

Tory Bruno is pretty much everything that Musk bought into believing about himself, without being a dick about it.

Why would the government want to take over something that burns money by the dumpster?

/Talking about the Biden admin, not the Trump admin which would buy it and then pay to send up someone to fly into orbit and paint all starlink satellites gold and then brand it as trumplink

Isn't it being investigated for Iran using it?

And of course trying to help Russia.

Yep.  The government would take it over in order to maintain domestic space launch capacity in the name of national security.  Though I tend to think they'd tend to look for other options first, and look hard.

Nationalizing a company tends not to sell well politically in the US... but Elon's made a lot of enemies and convinced most of the population he's a giant asshole and is now acting like a Russian agent.  It might be politically possible right now.

Most of them (~30). It's definitely easier to launch numerous rockets when you make everything from the engines to the payload and you're not expecting to make a profit for many years. Especially when you are relying on Starship eventually working as expected in order to actually make it economical, as Musk seems to be doing.

Including being an actual engineer.

He works hard to get as many people as possible to hate him, and then give them frequent reminders why so they don't forget to continue hating him.

Are you that addicted to the taste of his ass that you absolutely must defend him in the face of his obviously abhorrent actions?

When someone tries that hard and succeeds it would be rude to not acknowledge it.

Try telling that to Firefly Aerospace.  While it wasn't nationalized, the US government forced Maksym Polyakov to sell his shares of Firefly due to "national security concerns".  Maksym is Ukrainian.  In the end, I think he sold his shares for $1.

Sure, Firefly isn't Spacex.  But I'm sure plenty of people at NASA would love to deal directly with Shotwell without having Elon clouding the picture.

/not going to happen
//only way Musk loses Spacex is bankruptcy
///presumably via Tesla.  Although total failure of Starship could make him quit on his own.

I think NASA, or maybe more correctly USSF may have a large enough stick together with their sand box(es) also an element, that if he personally is deemed a national security risk and the government was to pull all USSF, NRO, and other government launches and Kennedy Space and Vandenburg launch privileges for SpaceX unless he's out, he'd be out. Or he goes totally private with dark money funding and launches exclusively starlinks from Boca Chica. lol

1) I meant his internet company and
2) presumably even Texas won't allow space launches without FAA approval

/not entirely sure on 2

There is not a single 'defense' of anyone in the above statement and your response is just proof of its validity.
