They could have said, "No." Instead they chose to commit a crime. And were likely delighted to stick it to the libs.

Republican'ts send their minions to do the dirty work. Sending the minions to jail makes it harder for them to outsource evil.

So nice DeSantis blew the $21 billion budget surplus by giving it to the wealthiest FL residents instead of climate change mitigation.
He has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars and counting sending 50 refugees to an island here in MA instead of fixing the broken FL insurance market.
Finally, he is begging for federal money to rebuild even though it's understood by leadership that most of the FL coast for miles inland won't be habitable in 2-5 years.
Elections/consequences.

Exactly. It's a violation of federal law to provide transportation to migrants. Only the federal government is allowed to do this, because federal law does not apply to the federal government.
