Talent and attitude aren't isolated facets of a person that reside in unconnected silos. They're inextricably linked. You could even make the argument that they're the same thing. Steinbeck had legendary attitude. Lots of it. He also had legendary talent. So did Warhol. And many others.  If you don't have "attitude," you'll never survive the rejections you get along the way, which would crush most people.

In art (like every other business), it's who you know AND who you blow. Most of the "art" I see nowadays I wouldn't use to furnish anything other than a trash can or dumpster.

It IS a good way to launder money though. Or so I hear.
