I guess I'm an Eeyore by nature but I couldn't help think during parts of this game that the NCAA is in the process of ruining regular season college football and will finish the job once the playoffs expands to 12 games.

When that happens can you imagine any scenario (barring a 4 loss season) where Alabama isn't guaranteed at least a 12 seed? This game barely mattered to be honest as I think an asteroid hitting earth is a likely as a 1 loss Alabama team not being granted a post season invitation.

Fun game though.

Completely agree. I'm trying to enjoy college football as much as possible until the regular season loses all meaning like every other sport.

Hope TN wins so Bama can hopefully see them again in Atlanta.

I think that would be a great game, and I'm looking forward to it, should it happen.

Would love to see Tennessee with Tillman back, playing against a hopefully much more disciplined Alabama team. I have never seen bama this sloppy, and it was only a matter of time till we finally lost a game. Hopefully this is their wake up call and they can clean up their act from a penalty perspective.

That said, as a Tennessee fan it's nice to actually be able to wear my team apparel again without having to feel some tinge of embarrassment

Just noticed that my phone somehow put we instead of they, potentially indicating that I am in Alabama fan. Oh well

I wonder how far Bama drops in the polls.  They've had to eke out wins against A&M and Texas and they give up 52 yesterday.  I know Tennessee is good but that's an awful lot of points.

I don't mind playoff expansion  but I think the playoffs should only include conference champions.

Given TN rank, and that if it wasn't for the missed FG at 13 seconds left Bama would have (probably) won, I wouldn't think they would drop that far.

ESPN, I mean, the selection committee, already creamed Alabama into the four team playoff where they didn't belong.

I for one would like to see my Buckeyes play Tennessee so we can witness the defensive struggle that would be a 77-70 game with 1500 yards of total offense.

That...was a hell of a game.  I think it's safe to say that Tennessee Football is back.  They're a damn good team and the Georgia game is going to be something to see.  As a UK fan, I'm not looking forward to playing either of them later this season.  Yikes.

2008 Texas says maybe you should pump the brakes. Having a good year doesn't mean you're back; maybe wait until you've a three or four good years in a row.

Undoubtedly true.  It would be fun to see them drop one spot behind Ole Miss.

I know none of it matters too much until they either lose again or get to the SEC championship.

To each their own but college football is magical and I have sympathy for those it doesn't feel that way to because I can't help but think that they're missing something awesome.

People don't get what they have and I don't get how they don't when there is no other regular season sport quite like it.

Just looking at that sea of orange on the field at Neyland Stadium when it was over was a great reminder of how enjoyable the whole thing can be.  Pure joy out there.

It's been great to see the Vols resurgence after sitting through so many bad seasons. I wasnt at the game last night because we traveled to LSU weekend before last but to put the celebration into perspective, y'all have to understand how many times the fans have sat in Neyland Stadium to games to watch our team get blown out. I hope recruiting picks up now and we're able to really compete year in and year out

To me it always seemed there was so much less complexity than the pro game. Some great athletes with passion, but not as much scheme. Has that changed?

For a couple years, wife's coworker had a son playing for  the Air Force Academy. We watched a lot, but it was mostly awful.

It is really neat to see such scenes.

I wouldn't say so. Scheme matters of course but since there will be more imbalances of talent present at this level it isn't quite so much about getting incremental advantages against relatively equal talent.

I feel like I need to go to confession.  I rooted for Tennessee yesterday.  What's the penance for that?  Is my immortal soul in peril?
