Interesting choice, though I don't think the two men's acting styles are similar.

Ford has not been a particularly good actor the last two decades. Once upon a time he played a brash, cocky, smartass version of Harrison Ford. That worked for him (and the audience, me included) up until around the.... third, Indiana Jones? Then he became Grumpy McGrumps in every role, looking like he'd rather be anywhere else. I'd rather get Grumpy Competence figure from Tommy Lee Jones whom at least looks like he cares about what he's doing.

I can't help but view this as a bad idea. Adding big names to already big-name properties is always risky.
Far better to give some no-name rando a chance, rather than risk a big-name overshadowing everything else.
Also, let's be horribly honest here, replacing someone who died with someone else who is at high risk of dying any day now....not a great franchise choice.

He Hated being han solo ,what are the odds he wants to grow a mustache and deal with another rabid fanbase?

This is what I don't understand.  He seems absolutely pissed off to be anywhere near cameras or possible fans all the time.  Is there a reason he has to work?

If he wants to be left alone, maybe his agent, manager, banker, or lawyer have some blackmail on him.  It's very confusing to see him in something and obviously unhappy about it.

Exactly, I finally took him at his word that he hated everything having to do ...you know, HIS JOB. So now I actively try not to go out of my way to watch things he's in (BR 2049 being the obvious exception).
You can only keep saying you hate your audience for so long before folks get your message.

Just what the MCU needs, an actor who hates both the role and the fan base.

Eh, give him a break, he probably has a permanent concussion from all the planes he's crashed.

I dunno,

General Ross always seemed to be grouchy, growly and ill tempered, the director
would only have to ask him "did Han come back as a force ghost?" and before Ford
can react, clapboard snap and "action".

Seems like a perfect choice for post Endgame Marvel.

Tommy Lee Jones would be great, but they already used him in a prominent role in Captain America.

Ford could be okay, but I think BR2049 is the only movie he's actually put any feeling into since maybe Air Force One.

They did recycle a member of the howling commandos as a teacher at Peter's school.

Descendant of the other guy.

Doctor Who does that a lot. Martha's cousin. The Doctor's new regeneration being inspired by someone he met. Gwen being the descendant of a person the Doctor and Rose met in the Dickinsonian era.

Anyway, I think Ford will work, though I would have preferred Sam Elliot in that particular role. He'd have been perfect.

I just keep thinking about a Harrison Ford Red Hulk.... Gonna have to experiment with images of that.

Geema Chan had two relatively big roles in separate MCU movies only a couple of years apart. Of course she was an alien in one

She's an alien in both, really, though granted she looks entirely human in the second role.

Not worth it at the time
At the time, an LP400 wasn't worth much...

Wish I had bought a couple with my dads inheritance instead of a house

I would be a millionaire now

Actually, that character, Principal Morita, had a picture of the Howling Commandos character, Jim Morita, in their office, implying the teacher (vice-principal) was the grandson or great-nephew of the WW2 soldier.

And since Martin Starr played an unnamed grad student in the computer lab at Culver University, he was ret-conned as a younger version of Mr Harrington.

Don't forget Tom Holland in Iron Man 3, as well.
