I turn that shiat off when I'm outside of the office. Nothing on my personal phone, work phone is in the laptop bag where its happy to buzz all night long.

Yes, it was difficult at first (for them), but eventually, other people learned how to also be able to do their jobs.

They're taking the "office" out of suite name like did for the tenant. I'm thinking some marketing biatch convinced the execs that Gen Z wouldn't like anything with the word office in it and here we are.

I have the install CD for 2007 still, but I just use Libre Office since I have no need for anything fancier.

I still use Paint Shop Pro from 2001 for lots of simple stuff. It's pure muscle memory by now. I have the latest version on my surface pro, because the old version doesn't support a stylus, but I keep the old version as well.

the big difference is that with Office, you buy a license that you use indefinitely, and for the most part they have "model years."  Example, I've  got Office 2016 on mine, and previously had Office 2011.

Office 365 is the monthly/annual subscription package.

It sounds like the former is going away and it'll be purely 365.

Yes, welcome to SAAS, Marketing's biggest wet dream in decades.
You no longer own* anything, you merely rent it.

*After initial purchase, I can use it any time I want from now until doomsday without paying another single penny.

TFA says the one-off purchase version is staying. You don't get the cloud storage etc, just the standard storage the free version of one drive gives away.
