Just why is this not treason, or at least extortion?

And yet, there's still a non-zero chance that they take the majority in the House

Since it is political suicide these perpetraitors (sic) need to be locked up to prevent self harm..

That will hurt millions of Black people, and every non-billionaire white person in America also. In other words, a sure fire winner with Republican voters.

Social Security and Medicare eligibility changes, spending caps, and safety-net work requirements are among the top priorities for key House Republicans who want to use next year's debt-limit deadline to extract concessions from Democrats,

Tell them no. Let the government shut down, and let that predominantly hurt red states. Otherwise you hurt all the states by compromising, which is exactly how they gain more power.

2022-10-13 1:30:51 PM
It kills them there are some taxpayer dollars that make it into the hands of regular folks before being funneled up to the corporate overloads who hold their leashes.

2022-10-13 1:45:36 PM
Same as it's been for the past 40+ years.

2022-10-13 1:45:44 PM
And then they'll run ads blaming Democrats for cutting Medicare and Social Security.

2022-10-13 1:46:02 PM
And Republicans are very upset when their plan to attack entitlement programs is talked about.

2022-10-13 1:46:26 PM
Blow up the country or we blow up the country?  How about neither.

So let's recap. Republicans oppose:

Student loan forgiveness.
Affordable health care.
Abortion.
Birth control.
Same sex marriage.
Divorce.
Medicare.
Medicade.
School lunches.
Fixing the effects of climate change.
Free and fair elections.

Republicans support:

Espionage.
Treason.
Insurrection.
Violence.
Rape.
Murder.
Theft.

So there's that.

Done in one, really.

They are openly threatening to take the country hostage until their demands are met.

True, but someday I might be rich, and then people like me better watch their step.

Fortunately, Republicans have no power whatsoever in government right now except what Democrats give them. Unfortunately, many elected Democrats would rather hand power to the Republican minority than pass legislation.

If the results of not doing what Republicans want and doing what Republicans want both end in destruction...then we might as well just start punching conservatives in the dick.
It's all the same, no matter what... might as well just do whatever makes us feel good.

I'm not saying it is the best solution, or even a sane one, and I am certainly not advocating for it, but if all these Republicans no longer existed, I think things would be better.

Would anyone miss them?  Wouldn't things improve?

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the most elegant.

We need a Thanos-style snap that removes GOP politicians.

Tell me without telling me that you have as little idea as Trump about how anything in Washington DC works.

2022-10-13 1:59:36 PM
The sort of people who will vote republican don't care a bit what their politicians say or do. Liberals hurt their feelings and that's all that will ever matter.

2022-10-13 1:59:40 PM
Making these statements just 3 to 4 weeks ahead of the midterms leads me to believe republicans feel they no longer need voters at all because the fix is in in red states controlled by republican legislatures.

They would never, in the past, discuss such a huge 3rd rail issue, out loud to the press, just weeks before an election, unless that election is rigged.

The American Taliban is above the law.

Let them shut it down. Republicans will learn that we won't be coerced, and the people will learn that the federal government isn't as important as we've been led to believe.

There is also the possibility that the GOP really do not understand the amount of rage people have for all things conservative right now.
Republicans aren't very smart, and they consider root cause analysis to be some sort of heresy. Not a lot of self reflection in that crowd, ya know?

So a more final solution to the republican/nazi/nat c question?

Pretty certain they are pro-divorce, and remarriage to a younger woman.

Rest seems right.

I assume this is some nonsense about the filibuster, but regardless of what you're wanking on about, the fact of the matter is that Democrats control both houses of Congress and the Presidency, and have the legal power to pass pretty much whatever legislation they feel like, without consulting Republicans at all. That's reality. The fact that many Democrats choose not to do this is a) part of how Washington normally works and b)the problem I described above. I am aware of the way that Washington DC does operate, and I am pointing out that there is no legal reason that it has to work that way, nor yet any valid reason why it should work that way.

if it f&cks over one single person plausibly a member of a group they don't like, then it will absolutely be worth it to the party faithful without a single exception.

How the F*CK do we have to keep fighting like f*ck to stop the return of feudalism and all we are getting out of it is an increasingly unstable economy most people can no longer afford to stay alive in

They'll demand democrats make cuts to the budget, still vote against the budget, then blame democrats for the budget cuts.

2022-10-13 2:23:04 PM
It's all so predictable.  They'll probably take the House, assume they have some sort of mandate, and engage in the usual stupidity.  Not that republicans are interested in governing anyway.

Biden can continue to label them as dangerous extremists and look like the one standing up to the angry mob.  Just like Clinton did in the 90s.  Even if he doesn't run again he can spend the next two years saying, "Is this what you want? You paid into this your whole working life and they're going to steal it from you."

Seems like a good time to cut funds to people on a fixed income.

All part of the cruelty.

Oh, how they hate the poor!  The threat is, "Let us destroy the poor, or we will destroy you."  Republican Congress in a nutshell.

Republicans exhibit the exact same mindset about US voters that Putin has about Ukraine.
Should be interesting.

cutting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid

And, uh, how many TFG-supporting Americans get money from at least one of these programs?

Hyperbolic Hyperbole: How the F*CK do we have to keep fighting like f*ck to stop the return of feudalism and all we are getting out of it is an increasingly unstable economy most people can no longer afford to stay alive in

Because an elite group of rich people (about maybe 300 or so worldwide) have decided they want to own everything and everyone.
The rest of us disagree, hence all the conflict.

300 people. There's like. A million Americans per ultra rich person. Ants only have a ratio of 2.5 million for every human, which is enough ants to overwhelm every human if they could ever coordinate, and theyre ANT sized ffs

We're better than ANTS, aren't we?

arent we?
