While EV's are still only a fraction of the vehicles on the road today, its still not a good idea to price gouge your customers.  Its also not terribly endearing to enrich hostile oppressive regimes.

Oil price hikes act as a tax (by oil suppliers) on the world economy. Basically, OPEC just did their part to ensure oil prices will tumble. I guess if you assume a recession is coming either way it didn't matter, but as policy makers it was just a stupid call on their part. But they virtue-signaled their love affair with Putin, so that was dumb too.

All the gas stations around me just bumped their prices 15-20 cent a gallon so someone didn't get the memo.

F*uck OPEC. We should start to sanction the f*uck out of the countries who are trying to screw us.

Gas prices have been going up for about a month in Washington, with average prices near $5.50 last week and $5.52 this week.

So, I'm getting kicked.

The current cost of heating oil is really, really bad news for the Democrats next month.

Oil prices go down, gas prices go up. You can't explain that.

They shot up here about 10-20 cents after Putin and MBS made their deal and have been hovering there since.

Didn't you see this in the window of your nearest fuel refinery?

I don't get why Democrats don't make renewable energy all about independence from Saudi Arabia, Russia, and other countries run by authoritarian regimes.

Who the hell still uses hearing oil? Even in my backwoods red state, that oil is illegal for heating.

It's been tried. Long term planning isn't something the American electorate can understand.

The best sanctions are improvements to infrastructure. Encourage people to either use trains or live in walkable areas.

Tens of millions of households in the North East. Excellent display of ignorance though. First rate.

Seriously? Wow.

Sorry, other than a few days in Manhattan, I've never spent any east coast time. Definitely never in winter. Just assumed that if it's illegal in a low population republican oil producing state, it would definitely be illegal in high density states.

But continue to be a dickhead if you'd like, or we can be friends.

In the last ten days my corner station went from $5.89 to $6.15 to $6.35 and now back down to $6.09 today. It used to change about quarterly, and now it's like watching the stock market.
