I don't expect to find a bar with a Harvey Wallbanger (or make a good one) in downtown LA for my usual traditional drink to start the hockey season. Probably going to have a tequila sunrise after eating at Wexler's deli, El Cholo or Cielito Lindo for taquitos.

Kings up 2-0 on Gabe Vilardi and Arthur Kaliyev goals.

I'm picking Gabe Vilardi to be the Kings' prospect to prosper this season, not Quentin Byfield.

Vilardi seems to get the franchise views him as lazy and is trying to amend for it, plus he's damn lucky Alex Turcotte (drafted ahead of Trevor Zegras, thanks scout guy) is farked over bad by injuries.

Byfield has all the makings of a defensive center if he ever gets confident enough to use his body on plays, but he's still a step slow on NHL offense to capitalize on chances that come to him. Great skating acceleration though.

At this point, I think Justin Trudeau might have the right idea of just having a new organization lead Canadian hockey because Hockey Canada just looks to be rotten to the core.

At this point, I think Justin Trudeau might have the right idea of just having a new organization lead Canadian hockey because Hockey Canada just looks to be rotten to the core.


The people running Hockey Canada grew up with the "boys will be boys" mentality. This issue is certainly not unique to hockey, or Canadian hockey; it's an issue wherever young athletes are deified and learn to believe that they are untouchable because of their talent.
