(Big Think)   If the Universe was born with so little angular momentum and that's something that's always conserved, then why does everything we observe, from planetary systems to galaxies, spin?   (bigthink.com) divider line

Because of dynamics, conservation of linear momentum, conservation of energy, and the net angular momentum from all those things spinning in opposite directions largely cancels out?

DNRTFA because Big Stinker.

ETA: it's actually remarkably hard to get things to not spin.

Rotation, which would be analogous to eddying, occurred after inflation and the BB and is the result of gravitational interaction as hot gasses condensed around a moving center of gravity.

Who is Big Think?
Do they stink?
They do take money from Koch.  Wiki sez:
"Big Think has created video series on "Courageous Collaborations", "Academic Freedom" and "Education Innovation" sponsored by the Charles Koch Foundation."

They pop up occasionally in YouTube.  Worth a click?

In fairness, even Nova and other PBS science shows get money from there

We could ask lots of strawman questions that confuse the fark out of people trying to learn, or we could have that website take down the confusing misinformation that comes from mixing of Newtonian and Einsteinian physics. And fire that farking writer.

So now I doubt the existence of dark matter and black holes

Survivorship bias? Spinning systems are just continuous near-miss events. If it's spinning, it didn't collide.

Well, they can't figure out how such large black holes formed in the early universe, and then also say 'nothing was spinning [so it should have all fallen into large black holes]'

They should listen to themselves.
