"I don't care if Walker said he thought Trump was wrong to have had Classified documents in his home in Florida!"

Wait, guys, put down the torches, let's talk about this . . .

It stops being satire when real life shows itself to be just as stupid.

The past ten years feels like we've been living in a horrible sitcom.

2022-10-07 9:10:57 AM
Meanwhile, the Dems haven't seen a voter registration surge like this in decades. Republicans might not care, but apparently a lot of other people do.

GQP in a nut shell.

Morals be dammed we want to win.

Dana Loesch : "I don't care if Herschel Walker paid to abort endangered baby eagles. I want control of the Senate."

Except that's actually a federal crime.

Like the many Republicans who've rushed in to stick up for Walker in the wake of the abortion news, I don't care if the former football star is an ancient, trans-dimensional, shape-shifting entity of pure evil that takes the form of a clown named Pennywise and terrorizes a small town in Maine. I want control of the Senate, and I'm sure Walker regrets any past desire to feed on humans.

Ok I LOL'd.

You don't actually have to publish every draft of the article, dude. Pick one and make it good next time maybe.

This is Babylon Bee Tweet-level stuff.

If your candidates show no morals now, how will they legislate morally?  Oh, right, the GQP is amoral and only interested in power for the sake of power.

Because no Republican would fail to agree with it or see it as satire at all?

I dunno. Still coming to terms with the fact that I wasted 90 seconds of my life reading it.

Even if only half the stuff in this article turns out to be true, the writer's going to look like a genius and you'll be telling everyone you read it here first on Fark.

"Oh yeah, Hershel Walker slaughtered the inhabits of the mead hall of Heorot, built by King Hrothgar, I thought everyone knew that. And yet those idiots in Georgia voted for him anyway."

It should be satire but the author is serious

The group the author is satirizing is pretty much saying the same thing.

I've considered satirical new sources like The Onion to be Cassandras for quite some time. They obviously have psychics on staff, yet we ignore their dire warnings.

FTFA: 2-billion-person planet of Alderaan

No way Alderaan had only 2 billion people. That's less than the populations of India and China put together on our planet - which is conspicuously NOT covered in a planet sized future mega city.

It's fascinating watching how many people just keep ignoring the advantage all of this gives the Dems.

Yeah but the people there are all fifteen times normal human size. That's the thing about the Star Wars universe, it's far far away and there's no way of comparing their size to ours in real terms.

Lol like federal crimes will prevent Republicans from voting for someone.

Republican candidates could literally end every press conference with "Death to America" and they'd get 30% of the vote and there would be thousands of op-eds and excuses about how it's figurative and it really means that they're only talking about the current, horrible, Democrat-run America, and that "Death to America" is really what TRUE patriots say.

The republicans are so morally and ethically bankrupt that satirizing them is impossible.

If Luke Skywalker was actually real and running for a Senate seat, Republicans would absolutely call him an anti-Empire, latte-sipping terrorist with a proclivity for incest

Wine Sipping Elitist: I don't care he had an abortion, I care that his lying and hypocrisy means he is untrustworthy.

Wha?  He's completely trustworthy: he is trusted 100% to vote however the Republican leadership tells him to vote.  This man is not going to spend even a second "considering bills" or "debating legislation."  He has no capability of individual thought.  That's not his fault, he is clearly suffering the effects of years of compounded brain injury.  He is being supported by the Republicans because he will be a completely mindless rubber-stamp wielded by the GOP head-honchos.  They understand perfectly well that it doesn't matter what he did in the past, because in the future, he will be theirs to control.

Remember, they let hundreds of thousands die in a pandemic because they didn't want to acknowledge it was real; doing so may have meant confronting the horrible medical system and lack of workers' rights that would damage profits and executive compensation of corporate donors.  What were they supposed to do, bite the hand that bribes them?

What disturbs me is that if Herschel Walker were, FSM forbid, the Democratic candidate in that senatorial race, we'd all vote for him, too. Because what are our options? Moderates would be saying, "But the other side is Nazis, so stop asking for ponies." Republicans are evil monsters, yes, but it's not like Democrats would sit out that election when the Senate is on the line, either. They'd hold their nose and vote for whatever Democratis candidate they had.

Yesterday, in an anti-Trump FB group, on a post that showed a laughing Barack Obama with the caption "Eight years, never had to hire a lawyer", I added the following comment...

"All the while running a "deep state shadow government" from his secret lair at Martha's Vineyard...Fark user imageFark user imageFark user imageFark user imageFark user image"

Clearly satire, right?

Yet, I got slammed and trashed by people who thought I was serious....despite five laughing emojis and quotation marks around the ridiculous talking point.

Several people came to my defense but not one of the people who slammed me said "whoops, shiat, I misread it, sorry, man"....one of them doubled down and said I was just backpedaling.

Needless to say, I was disappointed in people I thought I was allied with.

Please! Please! This is supposed to be a unified party! Let's not bicker and argue about who aborted who. We are here today to witness the election of this amoral idiot into the holy bond of the Republican Party. Unfortunately, he can't read, so he won't be doing any actual work other than fundraising but he will cement our control of the Senate, allowing us to block whatever the Democrats are trying to do to help you.

I feel like I need to point out again that she's suggesting aborting a baby eagle is a worse crime than aborting a human fetus.

That is some f*ckin' next level Real American patriotism...or godless communist socialistisms. Take your pick, really.

Just a reminder, Republicans would rather democracy and will of the voters be consigned to hell rather than lose power through fair and free elections.  Paying for an abortion is jay-walking in comparison.
