Nobody wants to see low scoring sports like American football.  That's why soccer will take over the US any day now.

As a Seahawks fan, I wanted Wilson to suck.

Because I had nothing better to do.
And because I had a parlay: under 42, Ryan and Wilson both 200+ passing, and sinks win straight up. After the half I think they had a combined like 130. I was annoyed. Then things started looking up.

3 minutes left in the fourth I tell my buddy "I'm gonna be pissed off if this goes to overtime"

Second half was just watching a trainwreck while feeling pretty good about my bet. Then overtime I wanted to throw something heavy at something heavier.

Watching Richard Sherman in the post game pretty much summed everything up that anybody that lasted the whole game was thinking/feeling. JUST RUN THE BALL

Sinks, eh phone? Ok. Let's go with sinks. The Denver sinks were supposed to win straight up

I gave up by halftime.  SOOO BOOORRRING.  It was like watching an eating competition between two vegans to see who could eat the most kale in sixty minutes.

Yeah it's almost fascinating how bad the game was.  Just brutal.

I'm a colts fan and I could barely finish iat.  I think the only reason I didn't bail was because I was watching/listening at work.   Had I been at home I'd have likely checked out.

Like 90 minutes for a 0-0 game.  No wonder Brits have drunken riots.

100K watched it on Amazon.

The TNF thread got to the Gredunza.

We'd rather watch a horrible football game than literally anything else.

I had it on as background noise. About the only parts that made me raise my head was when the announcers were ripping on how bad of a game it was. I guess being streaming only gives them the chance to say stuff like that.

because I had a prop bet on Matt Ryan's rushing yards.  The o/u was 1.5 and I took the under.

I watch it cuz fantasy...  i had the broncos kicker which gave me some points.   but all the picks ruined it for him.
I was also going against Russ so that was nice...

I'll admin though, I woke up at like 2:30am still on the couch.   I did not make it to overtime.  No clue when I dozed off but yeah, it was a shiat game.

I kinda love how bad Thursday Noght Football is. You can really feel the league going, "you suckers KNOW this is shiat and you'll eat it up anyway."

I'm no better. I watched some, too.

One hint for you, you are better off parlaying things that work together (correlated) and not opposed in possibility (anticorrelated). Since high passing yards would likely mean a higher scoring game, this is not an ideal parlay combination from a mathematicians standpoint. :-)

Because the Fantasy Footballers commentary livestream was fun, and I was playing Sutton.

2022-10-07 8:17:03 AM
Because it was so bad it was fun, like a sh*tty B movie that you're just roasting the whole time instead of really paying attention to.

Also, yeah, to laugh at Russell Wilson, who I've thought was a phony li'l b*tch since like 2015 and I'm enjoying having the entire world see what I've seen for years. Kinda like it was always fun to watch Jay Cutler suck and it finally dawn on people.

It's been fun watching Broncos fans pretend Wilson WASN'T a horrific trade and an overrated QB and make excuse after excuse for him. It's what my fellow Seahawks fans used to do!

But man, seeing how happy the Seahawks are to not have him on their team and seeing how all the Broncos seem to hate him, watching the fans boo him...ah, it's so hilarious and great.

I kinda understand why Red Sox fans enjoy watching the Yankees lose more than they enjoy seeing their own team win now.

My question is how does a ref cause that much of a physical impediment and not force a replay of down.

2022-10-07 8:27:42 AM
Remember 2 weeks ago when Amazon was a genius for paying all that money for bad Thursday games.

Well. Next week is Bears against Washington.

2022-10-07 8:27:52 AM
To see which QB was worse.  Matt Ryan is over the hill, obviously, but Russell Wilson has just given up on football completely.  He absolutely DNGAF about any part of last night's game.  That was amusing.

2022-10-07 8:39:58 AM
I generally like low scoring games. Good defence is great to watch. But there was a weird level offensive incompetence in this one.

Matt Ryan started to look panicked. Russell Wilson couldn't give a fark.

I think both coaches have lost their teams.

2022-10-07 8:42:02 AM
The broncos just have the worst offense right now.  They've been bad for a long time, but now they're abysmal.  It seems like there are parts in place for it to be better, so I'm going to say the coaching is just really bad.

The refs are part of the field. If they get in your way, that's your problem

I switched away in the first quarter when Russell Wilson threw a short pass to his right and it fell untouched to the ground about five feet away from the intended receiver and that guy immediately gave a very obvious 'What The Fark?!' reaction at Wilson. Switched back a couple of times to check the score and when I saw it was tied at six at halftime, I permanently bailed. Terrible game.

I got 10 fantasy points from McManus so that's cool.

I got 17 from the bronco's D

As a Seahawks fan I want Denver to lose as much as possible since they owe Seattle a 2023 1st and 2nd draft pick for Wilson still. So the worse they do the better the pick.

2022-10-07 9:55:02 AM
I had it on in the background on mute. I had to rewind and turn up the volume when I noticed Richard Sherman turning purple in the post-game, which made it all worth it.

2022-10-07 10:01:10 AM
Wow, even the highlights are dull af.

Too bad, I had always liked watching Wilson.

2022-10-07 10:10:26 AM
I watched a bit of the second quarter when I got home from Refereeing high school soccer and was eating dinner.  Didn't make it to halftime, ended up watching the rest of the Randy Rhoades documentary my wife and I started watching a few days ago. 14 goals were scored in the 2 games I did, and 18 total points scored, so it sounds like I missed nothing.

Kirk: "look, as ugly as this game is...."
Al: "you think it's ugly"
Kirk: "oh yes, it's definitely ugly"

The only person who didn't think this was ugly was the players mom who just thought their child did wonders at the football and tried their best.

Wilson is a shadow of what he was, but to say he was never good is ridiculous, but he looks like he has hiat that cliff or just doesn't GAF anymore.  That was really, really bad.  Bears QB level bad.  Okay, maybe not that bad.

All I kept thinking last night is "Russ doesn't want to play anymore". Nothing in his body language indicated that he was "there" mentally. No excitement in OT, no leadership shown, just there.

Broncos might have made of the worst trades in the entire history of the NFL. They essentially gave up 7 players...for that.

While appropriate username is appropriate, it also skies the parlay odds.

I'm pretty miffed, I had a +3500 parlay last night and hit everything except a Gordon TD, which he almost had at the end of the game. Bet 250yd over for both QB's, but the under on the Broncos getting to 20 points, and that TD.

Would have turned $5 into $180 or so. Just missed. Ah well.
