You Are All Sheep: The Silver Mullet: Graham Norton is the one talk show I would actually appear on, were I in any way famous. It looks like a really fun time, the conversations flow between the guests (and are usually damn funny), and you can drink!

greg davies tells the best stories.

Oh sure, I'd go on Norton's show, but the whole time I'd be thinking of Craig Ferguson.

And despite the sometimes low brow humour, he keeps it classy somehow.  He's fairly skilled as a host/moderator.   I believe most of the 'mistakes' are deliberate - maybe not planned, but it's a decision to not worry about them for atmosphere.

He's incredibly skilled at guiding the conversation, getting people to loosen up. One of the things I we lost in US talk shows after Carson was the panel.  How guests would stay there, move down a spot and you'd get interactions.

I'm not too familiar with his work outside of Father Ted but I must say, with all these rousing endorsements, I'm having a difficult time not molesting this multi-talented charmboat!

T.rex: Dr Jack Badofsky: T.rex: If you're a fan of the biz, i highly recommend Down and Dirty Pictures, by Peter Biskind, who also wrote Easy Rider, Raging Bulls.   The book revolves around the rise of independant film, but it 75% about Weinstein.     I tell you, the rapey stuff that came to public knowledge decades later pales in comparison to how he ruined lives in other ways.    Just a diabolically evil, larger than life man in every facet of his conduct.

Jesus, I remember back in the day when he was just a concert promoter in WNY (Harvey, Corky, & Tice).  They ran all the shows it seemed.

The book mentions those days!  It was in that industry that he honed the skills that made him a successful producer/distributor in film.   Basically learning how to leech off other people's art, bastardize it to his own liking, then packaging into a new thing that was more marketable.   He was good at it... i won't deny that.

I thought by-and-large that the song Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich by Warrant was an overblown caricature.  I guess not.
