(Comedy Central)   Maybe Stephen Colbert isn't as smart as we and he think? Why'd he let Cartoon Network schedule their debut airing of S.№3's premiere of his Tooning Out the News opposite him on CBS's Late Show? If you're as curious as Subby, check out at 11:45 ㏘ EDT   (cc.com) divider line

Dibikad: Toning Out has been on for 2 seasons? I just saw a commercial for it for the first time over the weekend.

It was only on streaming (Paramount+) before. This is its first season on a regular basic cable channel.

Probably because each show has a completely different audience.

Because he's laughing at subby struggling with 'Sophie's Choice'?

Can't watch it in Canada but this may be fixed in a later version because Canada is a giant market for Steve Colbert with the exception of the California market.

Breaking news from the Ric Romero Institute: The people who make a TV show don't decide when their show airs.

It won't matter soon. The way Comedy Central is going it'll soon just be reruns of South Park and The Office 24/7.

maybe because TOTN sucks? those bits always flopped on his show, probably why they got farmed out to a cable rerun royalty generator.

never even *heard* of Tooning Out the News. tangentially, i will say "Our Cartoon President", the pieces i saw of it, was very funny, even without recognizing a lot of the political figures. i liked the outro music: people singing "Donald Trump... he is the PRESIDENT! we made him President! we elected him president!" on and on, in the barely contained hysteria of disbelief.

Yeah, this was my first time to see it, and I was disappointed.

I think Colbert really regrets doing that show. Now he refuses to say Trump's name (he uses a different nickname any time he has to mention him at all [one of my favorite recent ones is "The Count of Mostly Crisco®"]) or allow it to be displayed (asterisks out his name as "T****" if it appears in a social media image or other text, as if it were profanity), or show his image unless absolutely necessary, and no longer does the vocal impression he used to do of him, instead having his words read by "a 7-year-old kid" (actually the woman who does the opening credits narration after the cold open at the start of each episode). ,

At least in late night. Wednesday is South Park day, but other days are all The Office except for The Daily Show. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't bother to find a successor for Trevor Noah, and just cancel the show when he leaves.

/Aaaand, I just realized i said "Cartoon Network" instead of "Comedy Central" in the headline. Yikes!
