I am looking forward to the release of No Man's Cyberpunk.

Also, as a player of both Cyberpunk and NMS, I like the early release, tank the game and redemption arc. I always wind up with the game for half off and just let it sit until it's fixed.

That's how I did it. Came in at 1.5. Now I'm on my fourth play-through.

Great news, and likely down to the success of their Netflix show. But the Cyberpunk IP is hugely rich and ideal for mining a ton of content. And now the game is basically fixed, it's pretty goddamned awesome.

I'm pretty annoyed that my game updated so the uber-hacker build I had pre-1.5 was nerfed into oblivion, because that character was HILARIOUS.

I played all three starting paths and I'm aware there are endings I haven't seen, but I need a break before I give it another go.

That and the fact that v1.6 is actually a pretty decent game.  It's still nowhere near what it should have been, and there are things that are still mind-boggling like the fact that cops in CP2077 are still more poor implemented than GTA3, but on the other hand, CP2077 cops are barely part of the game world anyway, so not going to ruin your fun.  At least they don't teleport right next to you no matter where you are anymore.

Still, I'm definitely looking forward to a Cyberpunk game that isn't trying to squeeze the last few drops of blood out of their RedEngine, and I suspect they'll actually be able to get more stuff done using Unity since they won't be re-inventing all those wheels this time around.

Unity?  I thought they were moving to Unreal Engine.

I bought the PS4 version for $20, on the off chance that I end up with a PS5 before I get a PC that can play the game.

This is correct. UE5 going forward for CDPR projects as of now.

Maybe they can get one done in the next year so we finally have a playable game using UE5 instead of just a bunch of "OMG someone made a tech demo and recorded a video of X game character recreated in UE5!" sh*t.

So I think my question becomes, how close are they to finishing the first one?

Seriously I do need to go and play and finish Witcher 3 before I allow myself to play Cyberpunk, But like as far as I can tell I've delayed myself into the period where its a playable stable game, and yet should I just wait until they go and DLC things next year?  It seems bizarre to announce a sequel to a game that you haven't actually finished yet...

But then everything about every decision around Cyberpunk has been the most Corpo decision ever.

Just shut up and make with more Witcher.

In terms of completion the 1.5 patch pretty much was them finishing it. 1.6 adds some stuff and makes some fixes and future patches probably will as well but overall I don't think you're going to see any thing else the size of 1.5s patch, aside from the expansion I'd bet most stuff from here on out are small polishes and some light content.

It's a playable stable game. The open world still mostly feels like window dressing and the police system is hilariously bad, but at this point those are part of the game. What the game is now likely isn't going to feel much different than a year from now. It's a good time.

Ya.  My bad.  I was even thinking Unreal while my fingers were typing Unity.

I blame the U's.  Someone needs to change the name of their engine!

I'm on my 2nd play through and really enjoying it but there are still a number of  ridiculous bugs..

Mr Spawn has played it through so many times. I was a gaming widow when it first came out. He said he's been waiting for this game for 30 years.  (He played the RPG when it was set in 2013.)
He's doing his Cyberpunk podcast right now, I'm sure they are talking about this.

I got Witcher 3 about 3 years after release with 2 DLC for like $20. What's not to like for being patient? Not a single farking bug in site.

"introducing multiplayer to most of our new games to enrich the singleplayer experience."

How?

Will other players join in your singleplayer game to troll you?

I can't really see why anyone playing singleplayer would want other people farking their game up. Otherwise they would have chosen multiplayer.

Cyberpunk seems so small compared to Witcher 3 and I didn't even get into the DLCs.

Witcher III is a sequel, and it's one of the best video games ever produced. So there's that.

And I'm not going to argue that point, and they have already announced that Witcher 4 is under development. While I loved the Witcher series, I loved Cyberpunk just as much, maybe a bit more because it's a first person shooter, not a 3rd person adventure game. I don't play many in that perspective.

Update 1.6 is widely considered 'finished'.

If you have a PC, this is currently fixed with mods. Gangs can behave the same way, and you can shoot out of your car. Both of these are going to be added by CDPR as another update to come, probably around the DLC which looks to be excellent.

Next year, no solid date yet. It's a spy-thriller apparently. I'm pretty excited.

I'm really excited for them to switch to UE5, given what they did with their own engine.

One thing that cannot be argued, this game is gorgeous. Especially if you have the horsepower to max it out.

There were bugs, you just didn't notice them.  That's why they are pretty substantial unofficial patches for what CDPR didn't finish.

I have been abusing the police AI in Cyberpunk 2077 by getting them to start shootouts with gangs, hiding, then coming in to loot the scene when it's all over. Pure profit.

I'm happy there will be a sequel, but I hope it has some fun bugs like #1!  I'm still collecting persistant corpses and carrying them to my apartment.  I lost a few when 1.6 hit, but I've also found more since then.  My iguana and cat will be well fed for months!

The ones you take out with hacks like Contagion or Synapse Burnout cling to life, writhing and twitching.  Dahmerlike, I enjoy placing them near my bed, for they are warm and moist.
