(Politico)   Biden goes to Puerto Rico to survey the storm damage, and doesn't throw a single paper towel, fight with any mayors or governors, or give himself the highest possible marks for his efforts. Does this guy even know how to President?   (politico.com) divider line

His visit sounded normal.
I mean normal in comparison with other recent Presidential visits.
Nice.

Did he at least get a no-bid contract to repair the grid for one of his cronies?

So Biden flew to Puerto Rico, an island surrounded by water, big water, ocean water  without throwing paper towels? Who does he think he is? President of Puerto Rico?
Thank you sir.

I predict "The Big Compromise" where the GOP shuts down the government after they win the house and wildly tease making Puerto Rico a state in exchange for outlawing abortion and voting everywhere else and Biden falls for it.

Wasn't the hurricane over two weeks ago? And he's just now rocking up to survey the damage?

On the one hand you're glad he waited until it was safe (unlike most politicians who make it about "me me me" right after a storm) but he was in Florida within days of the hurricane hitting there. Kind of showing where you think Puerto Ricans fall in terms of priorities, sheesh.

What? Multibillion dollar electrical grid rebuild contract to a 3 person company that never did electrical work before? Nah, only Republicans do shiat like that.

Jesus seemed like a cool dude but trump is the most worthless, disgusting, amoral, narcissistic, ignorant, selfish, racist, unAmerican, greedy piece of subhuman filth who ever lived and I'm ashamed to even be of the same species as him.

Never say "never."

Could also be impacted by how much damage there was and when they'd be able to receive a visit without screwing up relief efforts.

Sure subby. A lot happens when  a place like Puerto Rico upgrades their president.

________________________________

One, as was said, resources can be sent to Puerto Rico without a presidential visit, and a presidential visit can actually hamper the recovery efforts.

Two, Hurricane Ian probably made flights in the general area problematic enough to warrant caution.

There's a lot more to the story that you're trying to push.   I suppose Republi-tankies gotta tankie, though.

It's a completely appropriate comparison given the last Presidential visit.

We've been saying that a lot lately.

It was two different hurricanes.

Just today I heard a radio advertisement telling me about "Hurricane Ian's impact on Puerto Rico and Florida..."

Hurricane Ian didn't do jack shiat to Puerto Rico. That was a different hurricane.

We should make them an independent country so they can vote for whomever they want.

Maybe you are in favor of just swapping Puerto Rico for Greenland? But then nobody but a complete Id10T would think that is a good idea, oh wait!
