The drunkard's walk of short term noise in the markets is not newsworthy.

Discussing it in relation to the larger direction of the economy is like talking about the weather when the point of discussion is the climate.

I think I have seen that phrase monthly for the last 6 years. It's lost all meaning, unless there are many cats a year in the stock market.

If the economy is the climate, the stock market is like a bunch of proposition bets on what the next 10-day weather forecast is going to be.
