This 'article' is the first time I've heard the phrase "wife guy".

They both sound insufferable.

WTF is a wife guy? The phrase is linked in TFA, but it goes to some article about the Try Guys, who I never heard of until a few days ago when they "leaked" some "story" about one of them cheating which is "news" even through it's a pretty transparent attempt at marketing, which I guess worked because I now know the phrase "Try Guys".

After some additional reading, I think it's a term cooked up by guys who are trying to make "being a good husband" cool or something.  Like, it's such a trope in American culture that married men *resent* their marriage that these guys felt the need to emphasize that they not only value their marriages, but also that they make it a pillar of their personality.

It also seems like most of the guys who were trying to make that a thing were actually bog-standard internet clout-chasers and when people make some virtue the sum-total of their identity it is usually a sign of either deep insecurity or cover for a guilty conscience.

And this marriage sounds like it was doomed from the start.  Like it was built on a foundation of never seeing one another.
