Retaliation and a stern response. OK.
Imagine two little boys playing at a creek. The first boy picks up a rock and throws it into the water. The second boy says, "how dare you do that" and then picks up a rock and throws it in the water. Then they stare at each other until nap time.

Yeah about that.

"Separately, South Korea also launched a Hyunmoo-2 missile that malfunctioned shortly after launch and crashed, causing panic in the city of Gangneung"

We could have just briefly surfaced an Ohio class submarine somewhere well within striking range of North Korea and then sent them the satellite photos.

But that would be giving up location, what the sub looked like etc. which one you don't want to do in case you actually need it.

I said briefly, and we don't have to send the image right away.  Also, if it would make me think there might be 2 of them in nearby waters.

TOP SECRET
NO FOREIGN NATIONALS

The Democratic Peoples Republic Of Korea's recent attack on the Godzilla Spawning Ground in the Sea of Japan failed last week.  Post-strike assessment indicates that the weapon did only moderate damage to the target location and at least 1 subject is still active.

DPRK leadership is unable to generate followup attack within necessary time frame.  Requests assistance with destruction of target.

Resources will be allocated to strike from regional bases.  Media teams will release supporting information on strike as anti-DPRK propaganda following DARK SEA protocols.
