if their Leader is mocked? More?

What else is there to say about that temperamental, vacuous, ham-fisted, vain, hyper-sensitive, garish, flatulent, indiscreet, boorish imbecile that hasn't already been said?

It's only Tuesday.. I'm sure we'll learn about some previously undisclosed aspect of his time in office that broke at least a dozen laws by the end of this week.

I'm going to guess that you don't have any direct experience with narcissistic personality types.
Because making fun of them absolutely drives them completely bonkers.

Got him elected and popularized the crescent moon helmet. Both unforgivable.

No, Trump got elected largely off of liberals calling him an evil, cruel, bigoted monster, which no doubt that he is every one of those things, but for the most part they stayed distant of attacking him based of his weaknesses (vanity, false riches, etc.).

2022-10-04 3:07:29 PM
Sure.  Mock him, and give him and his cult the ammo they need to play the victim card some more...
I can hear it already.
"Oh, look at the mean, petty Dems making fun of our Lord and Master because they don't have anything *real* to use against him."

Conservative Dupes are easily triggered. Throw some truth at them and they lose their minds. My Mom died and one of my friends was trying to be nice on the phone but he's a ConDupe. Suddenly he's screaming at me for being a Democrat now that I feel it is better us Americans work as a team for progress instead of regressing into some religious fascist state. Fascist through and through, the dude supports turning back the clock to where only white male land-owners can vote or hold office. Completely lost in the cult of hatred of others, particularly Jews ( ffs of course ) and Black people. I just lost my Mom and I feel bad for that guy with no friends.

/ ConDupes are lost.

"Taking down" Trump won't fix anything in the long term. He's the symptom, not the disease. The real disease is the 74 million people who saw Trump in all his racist, incompetent, despotic glory during his first term and said "yes please, more of that."

You know what I think would really bug him? If you fools in the FBI did your job and raided all his other places and his kid's and lawyer's places!

Yep, and about 2 years ago I suggested that one of the best ways to do this is to keep telling the story of the mashed potatoes:

The most awkward moment came when Maryanne Trump Barry regaled the table with the story of the time Freddy Trump dumped a bowl of mashed potatoes on his bratty little brother's head. It's the sort of harmless, humorous anecdote most families relish retelling over the years until it becomes lore. But decades later, Donald Trump visibly bristled at the memory, crossing his arms and scowling.
"It upset him, as if he were that seven-year-old boy," Mary Trump writes. "He clearly still felt the sting of that long-ago humiliation
."

This is something most people would've long ago laughed off, but not him...and everyone laughing at him might just get him to throw a blood clot into his brain.

I don't believe 70M people voted for him.

With all the GOP election/voter fraud accusations, he probably got more like 50M.

Yes, they do.  The problem is they have to feel embarrassed rather than write it off as a liberulz attack.

But if you can get them to realise Trump is considered a fool and a joke by the vast majority, they will no longer want to tie their identity to him.

Personally, I vote for the hangman's noise, but if laughter can get the job done first that's good enough.

Do people still believe this? Trump was being prompted to run well before this. He was also attacking Obama well before this.

How are people getting this so wrong?

I get the point you and others are trying to make about this incident, but I actually think it reinforces the mockery-as-weapon idea, not weakens it. As Weaver95 said, NPD types cannot stand the thought that they are not better than everyone else, that not everyone sees them as the avatar of perfection that they see themselves to be.

No, mockery won't deter his cult. That is not the point.
No, mockery won't prevent he and his sycophants from proclaiming victimhood. That is not the point and they'd do it no matter what our side did or didn't do. That's what playing the victim means.
No, mockery won't get him to not run for reelection. That is not the point.

What mockery will do is cause TFG to become more and more unhinged, say more stupid things and things which are more stupid, to make decisions and "hereby declares" which are contrary to his personal and political self-interest.

If you want a TFG candidate who is at his most logical, making his best strategic decisions* to be reelected (or to avoid prison, for that matter), then avoid mockery and engage only on issues where he can set the narrative.

If you want a TFG who is saying and doing the stupidest possible things, if "getting reelected" or "staying out prison" are his goals, then mock him mercilessly. His mind simply cannot handle it and we will set the narrative that his NPD brain will be helpless to resist. ALSO go after him on the issues, of course. But a constant baseline of public mockery should be in place. Start with anything "size" related. Crowd size, ratings size, bank account size, hands, doesn't matter. He can't handle it.

*These decisions would be universally bad, of course, but they would nevertheless be the best decisions TFG can come up with.

1.06 million recorded deaths from Covid, and mass graves in NYC. And that's just "recorded." And that's jsut Covid, and not counting deaths in Syria, the Kurds killed by the USA rescinding its protection, and others.

Let's take that speechwriter to the woodshed. What's one more death due to allowing Donald Trump to walk free while he is mocked?

The way you beat Trump is to make the electorate bored of Trump. This would entail having Dems actually communicate a coherent, and inspiring vision of what America should be right now, and in the future, but that requires effort and real leadership, so it won't happen.
