At least it wasn't a slatted chair.

It was a slatted bench. Really.

I could have saved myself.  Just wanted to make some hoomans feel important.  And maybe I needed an ear scratch.  While you hoomans are there, open a can of tuna for me, thanx.

I hadn't seen the original story, but I'm glad the kitten's okay and recovering.

I'm a new WINK News producer and was able to get him inside after we had a brief, small fire was quickly put out by our management staff on the first floor that was completely.

I guess we know why they're the producer and not the editor.

WINK posted a video of a kitten that was doomed

then deleted the tweet and video because of all the hate they got.

Their update wasn't much better

that also got a lot of hate and accusations of being exploitative liars.

For all we know the now claimed rescued kitten is a ringer that was brought in to substitute for the one that drowned.

I haven't been able to find a copy of the deleted video but reverse image searching on the below can turn up more of the controversy.

If that's a substitute they did a damn good job at finding a ringer.  Cat in the video has white on his right rear paw, and the one from the update does as well. And the size of the cat looks right too, but without seeing more of the original video it's hard to say.

Also, cats can swim, they just don't like to.  There's no reason to assume the cat from the original video wouldn't have been able to survive long enough to be rescued.

Thanks. I was wondering if I'd had a stroke.

What great markings on that little guy.  I have a soft spot for the tabby cats.

Nope.  No idea what this is in reference to.  Great that they rescued a cat, though.

When they posted their "Let's watch the kitty drown" Twitter feed, they got torn apart. Then the follow-up was worse. I'd love to think they finally went out there and rescued the kitty, but I truly in the depth of my heart think this is damage control with a different cat, because people suck and cannot be trusted.

I like how you dig this stuff up and share it...but sometimes I wish you wouldn't.
