A lot of booze sold in NH is not consumed in NH. Giant liquor store beside the interstate would like you to stop in for a talk about this.

Small state and nothing better to do besides drinking/screwing.

Living near by, I buy more liquor in NH than I do in VT.  And not the "I'm almost outta Old Grandad, I should hit MoBev." more like, "Nor'easter is coming, I should max out my card in WestLeb."

Just be careful at the state liquor stores.  See the clerk?  That's a state trooper, so if you try to buy a huge amount of untaxed booze to take out of state, that's bootlegging, which is illegal.

Spend time with a Free Stater. That 750ml of Maker's Mark will look pretty appealing after 5 minutes.

Wisconsin does not live up to its reputation.

You can easily outrun those guys in most modern cars and it's illegal for cops in NH to have radios and call for backup.

It's an equal mix between the cheap state liquor store selling to out of staters, and my idiot sister and her family.  It takes a whole lot of booze to fuel that kind of hate filled racist nonsense.

Lot of rednecks. Lot of woods.

They also fund a good chunk of the state budget with sales of booze since they don't have sales tax.

Well, dealing with other New Hampshire drivers come to mind. Seriously, WTF does your state do to you to make y'all such imbeciles behind the wheel? Connecticut, don't shuffle and scuff your feet, you're on notice too, but for an entirely different driving style that can get you killed in other states.

I'd like to see the Summer/Winter split on Delaware.  Even then, I'd expect that Ocean City (MD) would drink the Delaware tourists under the table (has it changed?).  On the other hand, being in Wilmington might drive you to drinkin, or perhaps the same thing where people come from Philly to buy cheaper booze (or just escape weird PA laws).  Probably all three together were needed to be second to NH.

Don't remember any beer runs to DE when staying in Ocean City.  Then again, I was 18 the last time and had to "make due" with the booze we brought with us (it was enough for then lightweight me).

I dunno if it's relevant to booze but I have a girlfriend in Boston who gets her dunhill cigs in NH bc it's way cheaper.

New Hampshire is a weird state to visit.  It's a bit of a Potemkin village, nice little towns with neat little shops, repurposed old mills and churches and stuff.   There are trailer parks and scummy dives but they're very carefully concealed.
And yeah the driving makes Massholes seem like reasonable people.  Live free or die, what's the difference?

New Hampshire runs are a thing in Maine too. For booze and for cigarettes. And fireworks.

They can keep their skeevy knock-off maple sugar candy though.

That's all over New England though. You feed that mess to the tourists.

I made that mistake once, and this guy was not too happy about it

We just did that in May coming back from Nashville. It's sad bourbon and TN whiskey distilleries pretty much stop trying after Chicago.

Recently saw a different list of top counties for alcohol consumption per capita.....like 48 of the top 50 were in Wisconsin....

I was born and raised in New Hampshire... so yeah, I get it.  Not sure if its because the state is on radio active granite, or if its due to the isolation, but by and large, folks there are pretty horrific.  Took a lot to file down my edges over the years, and still have a way to go on that.  I am a work in progress
