I know the stereotype is that the Irish are cheap, but 112 days at sea? Just buy the plane ticket, FFS

That must have been a long flight for the rest of the passengers for a row to last that long.

I watched him and another Irishman leave from Chelsea Piers in NYC and tracked them for a couple of months. He came ashore alone and I haven't been able to find out what happened to the other guy yet. Still looking.

True fact:  The Irish Gardai have an Olympic caliber crew team.   They operate a boat house on the Liffey where they train.  It is divided into two parts.  One part has a bar in it.  The other part also has a bar in it.

Did they leave in the same boat? And is this boat's name the Essex? If "yes" to both questions I have a guess

Well that's odd.  I've spent days in that boat club, am related to a bunch of the people that run it, and strangely enough, not one of 'em ever got on their pedant boat and mentioned that when they were talking about it.

Same thing at the UW, which also has a farkin' championship crew team.

Maybe it's just you.
