What are the elements of extortion again?

Not sure that I see anyone advocating for a seperate MT grid, which would be stupid given the nature of winter there.

Mostly I see a conservative trying to float Coalstrip a bit longer. I can understand that, though I disagree that it is necessary.

Idaho. Idaho makes Montana look like a bastion of sense and sanity. Idaho is the worst state in the west. It actually destabilizes neighboring states.

You wouldn't know it visiting Bozeman or Big Sky. Quite a lot of weed smoking ruffians who dress in baggy clothes despite being in their 30s.

What amazes me is how in a state with so much wide open space they are cramming people into tiny little semidetached houses and townhouses. And, of course, how expensive those houses are. In that regard it reminds me far more of the UK than of Texas.

Montana and Wyoming have been politicizing their power generation sources for years. They are perfect states for wind power, but they have a very powerful coal lobby in state. So instead of doing the sensible thing and deploying massive wind farms, they continue to burn coal. At one point the legislature was looking at literally banning wind turbines.

I was half expecting a lifted, cat deleted dually to plow through the pride march downtown in June. Instead, when we got to the end (at a big stage) there was a big display of "SAY GAY" and some pretty good dance music playing.

It was kind of heartening seeing a few church groups out with the other groups. Next time I'll plan and be more colorful.

You know if enough of us, and it wouldn't take that many, agreed to move to Montana and set up strategically located "colonies" where we worked remotely, and registered to vote, we could swing Montana blue.  It wouldn't take that many of us either.

It's honestly gotten so expensive that Mrs. Kitty and I almost considered moving back to CT.  Wait for a housing crash first, then start the hippie commune on some cheap land.  Just don't expect any decent internet connection if you're outside of town.

Yuperoo. As someone who lived through Enron's B.S. here in California, I can say they have been at it for a while. Of course, the state didn't do itself any favors by deregulating utilities, but I believe that happened under Gov. Pete Wilson, a Republican.
