It is, in fact, very possible to prepare very tasty and succulent ribs in the oven, which in no way is meant to imply that those ribs are better than what might be prepared during an hours-long smoking session. But two things will always be true:

1) Using "liquid smoke" for any reason must always be interpreted as a desperate cry for help, and should probably be added to the trigger list for red flag laws; and

2) Lifehacker is not a reputable or even worthwhile source for anything, ever, in any circumstance.

drjekel_mrhyde: Fry the muthafarkers[Youtube-video https://www.youtube.com/embed/wM-3TORE0pI?start=712]

I'd eat that. Ever had deep fried bacon? Had it at a diner chain in Utah once. Lots and lots of bacon for cheap but it was of varying degrees of cooked as they just threw pounds of it into the fryer at once. It was ridiculous but would do it again.

Half hour after we were full from pancakes, sunny side up eggs, bacon, etc, my buddy was digging through the pile of bacon left on the plate and exclaimed, "I just found another egg!"

-true story. They eat a lot of bacon in Utah.
