A buyers strike would tame inflation quickly.

the US economy has relied too much on underpaid consumers buying crap they don't need.
want to fix this?  raise wages.

You MUST consume!  The overlords need you to consume so they can justify the rape of the giasphere.

well ok I guess

But but but

The talking head on TV said the fed needs to cause a recession before companies raise wages to keep up with inflation, and that this would cause inflation to go higher.

You know, despite the fact that real wages haven't gone up since 1974 and in fact have gone down, and inflation has continued its steady pace regardless of the fact that wages have been depressed since the Nixon administration.

Oh but if we paid better wages, maybe American consumers would buy stuff they don't need with cash, and not with credit cards at usurious interest rates. And we all know, the real crime in America is to inconvenience rich assholes.

Amazon also tends to have crappy brands these days.
We just moved to the US and setting up a house you'd think Amazon would be an easy source of stuff. So much is crappy no name brands. And they aren't cheap either.

Amazon grew too fast and didn't pay nearly enough attention to quality control with their resellers. There's so much counterfeit nonsense on there now that a lot of people are afraid to even try shopping through them for anything important. (The same probably also applies to eBay but I never used it enough to form an opinion.)

Their delivery service also starting slipping just as EVERYONE else stepped up their pick-up and delivery game, so now the quick and easy part of their formula is removed as well.
