I wonder if they knew then what they know now if they would have voted to convict on that second impeachment.

Sure it would have been bad PR for a short time, but they would be rid of this albatross.

That's just locker room shooting people on 5th Avenue. Everybody does that.

What if Trump stood on 5th Avenue and shot himself? Would his followers still vote for him?

Trump could have a dozen 3 percenters pull a train on McConnell's wife, and Mitch would still support him.
He's a good little biotch.

My question is why has the "new" DOJ not arrested trump for the collusion in 2016?
Seems the DOJ needs new management, and to take treason and sedition more seriously, even if republican.

You have someone asking Russia for help to get elected president, extorted Ukraine to investigate political rivals, as president cut military aid to Ukraine in retaliation, causing his Russian comrades to have an opportunity to invade Ukraine.

Looking back on the "Russia are you listening"; it was always "collusion".

Probably not, and for the same reason Trump was able to usurp the GOP. The money behind the GOP have spent a lot of time and effort to make sure that GOP candidates are spineless and lack leadership skills in order to have puppets they could dictate their policy agenda to. Trump being a natural bully in a petulant child sort of way, was able to steamroll over the spineless GOP POTUS contenders, as well as the rest of the party. All have been conditioned to appease those like Trump, not challenge them. Before Trump ran, he was on the list of rich people the bootlickers running for office would grovel to for his token endorsement.

There is just simply not enough spines in the GOP to ever have voted for conviction, even if they know better.

As with Cruz, it is difficult to respect a man that won't defend his wife's honor.

Maybe I'm just old-school like that but if Cruz had sucker-punched Trump in the face in 2016 after he insulted his wife, it wouldn't have made me a Cruz supporter but I think virtually everyone would've understood or even applauded it. You just don't insult another man's wife to his face and not suffer consequences.

Like, I don't understand how you dont throw hands when someone says that about your wife. I'll easily take a beating and/or do a night in the pokey for that.

The GOP has spent decades turning their electorate into the mindless, malignant, proudly ignorant, grievance-addicted farkwads that they are today.

Just look at FL; I guaran-damn-farking-tee that all of the assholes that voted AGAINST hurricane relief that is desperately needed, will get re-elected, as long as they blame Biden and illegals.

Funny to see them complain when they see the results of what they've been working towards.

I feel like Cruz could beat up trump and would 100% pony up for a PPV broadcast of it, but McConnell isn't fighting anyone. He's just going to let trump know it was him when his entire family dies in a mysterious plane crash.

I can only imagine what that marriage is like, and how Ted Cruz managed to find a real human woman to stand being around him long enough to have two children with. Like, the only conclusion I can come to is that it's a marriage of political convenience: he gets a beautiful wife and family for the campaign trail, and she gets a political tool to push for more deregulatory policies.

Republicans are finding out the hard way that putting a narcissistic sociopath in charge of their ideology was a very bad idea.
Because trump ain't going to stop. He's already put the midterm elections into doubt and probably cost the GOP a number of seats in Congress. Donations are down across the board...and oh yeah, just about every woman in America is flat out beyond pissed off at all things Republican.
And the only thing that Republicans know how to do is double down. So I think that's what they'll do - keep doubling down on all the things that hurt them.

I was the kid that was doing the Pokémon card hustle. At some point between now and then, I developed more of a conscious. But yeah, the last card I needed to round out my collection of was a Flareon, and I got it by trading some off-brand Pokémon cards, lol

Ordinarily I would be completely appalled at myself for thinking violence is the answer, but the truth is that would have ended the Trump campaign. He would have been thoroughly humiliated. None of his base who just want a middle finger incarnate to represent them would have retained any admiration for him after that.

It's already down. Trump is 'truthing' his impotent rage from his failure of a social media platform, and the only reason we still know about it is because the media keeps elevating him onto a platform. For once, McConnell has the right idea of not escalating it further.

That being said: McConnell is still a spineless coward for opportunistically embracing that fascist and then staying silent now that it's no longer expedient, lol

Ordinarily this would be true, but Heidi is a Goldmann-Sachs executive.  She's not a stranger to the indignities they might have to suffer in order to procure more power and profit for themselves.

They know if they go against Trump, Ted's political career is over, particularly as a TEXAS senator.  I'm she gave him a pass.

Dude, it does not even matter if your wife says it ok. It's between you and him and the both of you know it. He crossed a line you don't cross, only question is whether you're man enough to do what needs doing.
