Have they figured out how not to shutoff features once the car is resold yet? Or the fact that Elon is a terrible human being and that turns off the kind of people who traditionally champion EVs?

Honestly, I thought my next car would be a Tesla until I realized what a douche Elon was. Now I'm thinking Polestar or Rivian or something, well, not Tesla.

Yep...every carmaker is going to have a bunch of EVs in the very near future and I'd rather not spend any of my money on something associated with Musk.

Beyond brand loyalty why buy Tesla?  At this point they make the most boring looking cars out there. There's a reason that the other automakers revise their styling every 5-10 years Elon.

Then there are all the various defects and poor fit of panels etc.

You missed the Elon Musk nutswingers this past weekend in another Tesla related thread who claimed panel gaps and fitment are a non-issue.

Well your cheating spouse is a non-issue if you decide that they are worth it no matter their flaws.

Even if you like Musk, the build inconsistencies of Tesla are a giant risk given the cars' price points.

For me, the quality issues and overall sameness of all their cars are reasons enough for me not to buy one. Elon's douche status wouldn't be a reason for me to avoid the brand though. None of the other car manufacturers are exactly pillars of good. They are all for profit multinationals that all have blood on their hands at one point or another over business practices, recalls, lobbying, anti consumer or worker practices.

That being said, these are the choices we have. Despite being personally impacted by VW diesel-gate, I'd jump to buy a euro spec Id.buzz if I could.

I also love teslas direct to consumer model and hope other manufacturers can pull that off (probably not because dealer laws).

They are for sure a bigger issue to you, a non Tesla owner, so sorry about your stress!

They're part of the many reasons I won't buy a Tesla.  And, that's fine with me if it means I'm a different kind of smug.
