Of course they did. The GOP doesn't want good voter turnout, because then they lose

Everybody should vote, hell, vote several times.

You get better government when more people participate. Although, that could explain GOP's aversion to it.

The more people that vote, the better chance you'll get a government that better represents the populace.

Is our children country learning?

Seemingly, no, because people like this aren't having their heads put on pikes.

Sue all you want, farkfaces, I'm still gonna cast my Milwaukee vote for non-republicans.

There's a republican party office a block away from America's Black Holocaust Museum. It makes me grind my teeth a little bit every time I drive past.

Free and fair elections are a power grab, as Mitch McConnell told us 2 years ago.

It sure is a double edged sword, living here. It's split 50/50 and every year is some pile of bullshiat.

I suppose it technically beats living out in a state where they never make the news, because they all died butt chugging lights and horse dewormer. At that was before COVID.

TFA includes a photo of the mayor.

I'll give you three guesses why the GOP decided to sue him, and the first 1,487 don't count.

I would not be at all surprised if you are correct as to that being a factor.

It's Milwaukee. You could have the whitiest white guy ever there. But since he would always be a democrat, and black people always live there, the reaction would never change.

Wississippi gonna Wississippi.

There is a solution to the problem of a small, entitled group overriding the will of the people. Just ask the late 18th Century French for some tips.

Perhaps some "republican patriot" can teach us all why people voting is against America. I would truly like to read their logic as to why Americans voting is anti-American.

Of course, these days any person labeled "republican" or "patriot" means lying, idiot, amoral, traitorous garbage that want to become a soviet citizen. Yes, the list is but I want to cover the key points

Because they might not vote for God Emperor Trump.

It's as simple as that.

There's other stuff about how white Christians deserve it more or maybe a welfare mother got to vote even though she had an unpaid traffic ticket, but that's just seasoning for the real reason.

He's named Cavalier Johnson?

/ He should switch places with Cleveland's mayor, Buck Anderson

No, they're suing because they're alleging an improper relationship between Milwaukee and supposed non-partisan groups that are headed by a bunch of Democrats.

It's not fair for partisan groups to coordinate with the government for a desired outcome, and if there was nothing wrong with what the mayor had announced, the city wouldn't have walked back his comments and claimed he "misspoke."

Subby is a liar and the political groups in question are free to conduct their canvassing independent of the city, so allegations of restricting voter turnout are about as stupid as claims of "it's because the mayor's black!"

You answered your own question. In any case they want an authoritarian style of government that leads to late 1930s Germany. Right now we are early 30s Germany and only a few more stolen elections away from the leap. Once they catch THAT car who knows what will happen.

I'm anticipating a fight at some point. If they manage to weaponize the DoD against the country we will all be in a pile of shiat. That's one thing I believe is a bridge too far. But .... They are absolutely f*cking mental cases.

Misleading underline for emphasis failed. I did in fact read the article. How does the saying go? "See you in court"

Then you wouldn't have asked about evidence.

The city said the mayor "misspoke". It's right there, under his picture in the article. You know, the article you read.

Probably greater ties, since I can guaran-damn-tee that conservative "non-partisan" groups would be leaning on potential voters to influence their actual vote, instead of just helping them register.

Remember, every time a Republican accuses the Democrats of doing something 'bad', the Republicans are the ones who get caught actually doing it, and usually worse. From voter fraud to being fiscally irresponsible to molesting children, every accusation is a confession.

I wish 100's of 1000's of individuals could sue the GOP in federal court individually, all across the country, every year, for the next 30 years to paralyze the system.

All it would take is to have a cabal of lawyers set up a website and direct people what to do.

"If you encourage voting, the wrong people will go out an vote. I mean, there could be women, or young people, or even...Those People. We won't stand for more people voting that won't vote with us."

At least they're honest about it nowadays.

As a sidenote: the city and the sponsors for this program need to highlight this effort at every turn on every platform that they have. Just to illustrate the point.

Sure, because that definitely couldn't be weaponized by a horde of mouthbreathers all acting in lockstep with a political party.

We did. His name is Tom Barrett and he's so white he's currently the Ambassador to Luxembourg.
And yes. Your assessment is 100% spot-on, though I wouldn't be surprised if the acrimony is dialed-up a touch on account of Cavalier's not-whiteness.
