And then promptly fell down beside it.  I can appreciate that they are probably taught to not run screaming across the horizon so that they can be attended to with minimal use of tranq darts, but "lay down right under the rear bumper of the inferno and take a rest" is still probably not best practices.

Press release from the driver involved:  https://twitter.com/j66anderson/status/1576353875958767616/photo/1

Second degree burns on his neck, face, right arm, hands, and both knees.  He is being released so that is a good sign but it is not going to be a pleasant next few weeks.

It sure as heck shows why he decided to bail as the truck hit the wall.  No one wants to burn up.  Hopefully NASCAR will take a look at the fire protection in the car as well as the gear drivers are using to make sure it is up to specs.

Seems like NASCAR needs to take a hard look at a lot of things, don't they?

From the comments most fans are just happy that God was involved in this wreck. NASCAR doesn't have to worry.

Yes.  Now this was in the Trucks rather than the new composite car that the drivers love... So it is an older design that we understand fairly well so it will be interesting to see what happened in the engine that penetrated the firewall and let flames in the body.  Also, was Jordan Anderson wearing his safety equipment properly and was it up to standard (he is a part time driver few starts so I don't know his resources) and if it wasn't how did he pass inspection?

Thankfully for Mr. Anderson he didn't inhale hot fumes and damage his lungs.  2nd degree burns are painful, but shouldn't require skin grafts or advanced treatment given he is being discharged (still have to monitor for infection obviously).  I doubt we see him the rest of the season if he was was scheduled for further races.

I can't critique because I've never been inside a rolling inferno.

I did see Batman and Robin in the theater which was a rolling dumpster fire.

Hell of a driver, or car design (I refuse to call those "Trucks").  Maintaining control while everything, including himself was on fire, and finally able to soft stop against the barrier.

-1 for trying to get and almost getting crushed, but understandable when you might burn alive, your only thought is to get the Fark out

Is there any component on these vehicles that remotely resemble a "stock truck" component out is it simply a plastic truck shell to appease truck red necks who want a race if their own?
