(International Business Times)   Many Americans are apparently apprehensive about sending hurricane relief donations to Florida. Possible concerns include money being spent on meth-fueled shark joyrides and enabling more forced immigrant airplane rides   (ibtimes.com) divider line

Good point. There's no way I would donate to anything DeathSentence is connected to.

Florida thanks you for your donation to assist in the rebuilding efforts.  We will take the utmost care to ensure that none of it goes to help the browns, the gays, or anyone who makes us feel icky.

Given the last time we as a country gave Florida money they flew refugees to Martha's Vineyard, I don't think they could be responsible with any other money we send.

DeSatanist will misuse any cash he gets his hands on.

Besides, as I recall, "no bailouts for blue states" was/is a thing among many repuglicans.  They like to f*ck around, maybe now they need to find out how it feels.  Fark em all.

Donated this morning to Jose Andres World Food Program USA. Rhonda Santis gets nothing.

Florida is sitting on a 22 Billion dollar surplus, so much that it budgeted 12 million just for political stunts based on being cruel to children who are lawful asylum seekers.
They have a track record of using money to do the worst thing possible - no way I'm sending them more cruelty fuel.

2022-10-01 11:05:22 AM
Why would you trust that money you send to Florida wouldn't be appropriated by the ruling junta

I'm just sick of pouring relief dollars into states who wouldn't piss on a "lib" state if it were literally on fire.

Don't worry. Rick Scott also voted against helping Florida.

Yes, that Rick Scott.

DeSantis voted against every single hurricane relief bill when he was in legislation. He tried to deny funds for Super Storm Sandy.

I don't think any federal funds should go to Florida right now. It's clearly going to be misdirected and misspent. It's like sending it to Somalia at this point.

I wouldn't visit that shiathole state among others, and I don't want to send aid to shiathole states.
When you treat your smart people, your minorities, your women like second class citizens, fark you.

And you can start acting like you deserve a bailout. You are only gonna grift it anyways

I'll contribute to organizations like Pilots and Paws and others dedicated to getting pets out of Florida and into decent forever homes.

Enry: Given the last time we as a country gave Florida money they flew refugees to Martha's Vineyard

And remember: the refugee problem in FL is so bad that they had to go 900 miles away to TX to find some to ship to MA (another 2000 miles).  Tell Desantis to sit on it and rotate

Yeah, no.  On top of their fascist con artist of a governor, why are we funding a state that will eventually be sinking beneath the waves anyway?  One of the main reasons the damage was so extensive is because they were building in flood zones.  Why the fark are we propping up cities that will sink again next year?

Go fark yourself, Florida.  I'm kinda tired of Republican sacks of shiat that biatch about those non-whites getting imaginary cash while they piss and whine whenever Yet Another Hurricane blows their shiat houses into the ocean for the Nth time.

2022-10-01 1:11:39 PM
You mean people don't want to help a guy who voted against giving disaster relief when he was a congressman?
Who woulda guessed?

2022-10-01 1:12:05 PM
Of course they should get relief. That's like, how shiat is supposed to work.

And it's goddamn embarrassing that republicans have even set the precedent of asking "but does our society really need stuff like aid and social safety nets?" when it's not their asses on the line.

I donated to Second Harvest food bank in florida.  i have been a volunteer at second harvest in the bay area for almost 10 years and small donation feed a lot of people.  Animal shelters will need donations and supplies as well.

Sending thoughts & prayers.

/actual $$$ received will be used for evil

2022-10-01 1:23:49 PM
Why keep throwing taxpayer dollars away on stuff that's just going to be destroyed by the next hurricane? If Floridiiots like Florida so much they should implement state income tax like everybody else does to pay for stuff. Why spend taxpayer dollars on Florida or Texas when they're clearly not serious about climate change or spending money appropriately?

2022-10-01 1:24:04 PM
At this point, any federal dollars that go in should only be used to relocate people out of flood prone areas.  These aren't unexpected emergencies, these are predictable recurring events.

Yeah but feed the money through organizations that actually do work with it. Anywhere that particular assclown is telling you to send money? Probably not it.

Is it really impossible to earmark funds sent to states? I don't feel like our options should be 1) a blank check or 2) nothing.

No worries! Pelosi says we need the immigrants in Florida to pick the crops!

Let him work the gigantic surplus he racked up by cutting government services along with the federal help he would have denied to the east coast.

I'm not giving spare change to that. It is a campaign fund in disguise.

5,000+ Americans died in Puerto Rico because of the Trump administration.

Florida isn't even getting my tots and pears.

My aged grandmother lives in Pasco, which just barely missed getting clobbered by the eyewall. I have some good friends down there too.

That said, if THEY need money, I will send it to them directly. Florida doesn't get one dime out of me.

Florida made a pretty clear choice when they elected DeSantis.  Time for them to enjoy some of the consequences of that decision.

fark Florida.

Full of ignorant, selfish assholes but every year when the hurricanes regularly flatten their trailer parks, then they reach out a hand for help and charity from the rest of the country. State could break off and fall into the ocean and nothing of value would be lost.

2022-10-01 1:43:49 PM
They're still picking dead blacks, browns, poors and icky people out of the rubble. Fortunately you have a reason to justify doing shiat-all to help the survivors, or else you might feel some kind of way.

I absolutely think they should get federal dollars.  The federal government is supposed to help our citizens.
I'd be more inclined to send personal money if I didn't think the effected regions are going to be destroyed again in the next 10 years due to climate change.

2022-10-01 1:46:30 PM
How about the Republicans send aid to Republican voters and the Democrats send aid to those who voted Democrat?

See who cares most for the people of their country.

We could make it a reality show, if not the beginnings of a new America.

I assume most donations get embezzled down there. For Jesus of course. They're getting my federal tax dollars. That's enough.
